You might be expecting me to recommend some ancient, deep and mystical work but actually I'm going to simply suggest Ask & It Is Given by Abraham-Hicks. The powerful techniques in that book have transformed my own life and, I'm sure, the lives of many others too. I'm of the view that the true value of "spirituality" lies in its practical everyday application. Without practicality as your guiding principle, you just have endless academic debate and speculation that ultimately leads nowhere except to "my opinion is more valid than your opinion" kind of discussions. Focusing on practicality ensures you stay simply focused on "what works" and helps you cast aside unnecessary dogma and unwelcome external influences. And I can't think of a more practical spiritual book than "Ask & It Is Given". answered 17 Dec '10, 14:11 Stingray 1
Nope Stigray..i was expecting you to name" ask and it is given! !...to be honest its creeping up my favorite list at the monent too.I like the practical aspect. Theres as much practical application as theory in it.Ive listened a lot to Esther on U tube and shes growing on me.Theres a great deal of reality in her teaching and no discernable dogma/religion. Just the way i like my spirituality.

Not only are those teachings "dogma-free" but there's not much in them that would conflict with anyone's favorite religion or philosophy. The basic message is, after all, simply enjoy your life. Abraham have always said their aim is not to promote any particular way of life, religion or philosophy but to help people appreciate more whatever path they choose to follow...any path that feels right is right. And what's interesting for me is that in applying these principles, I've also become far more accepting of the beliefs of others. It's a Big Universe...plenty of room for everyone :)

Canr argue with that. Her book will no doubt become a classic in years to come.

I agree with you Jaianniah the Bible would be the number one because it connects us to the all knowing God and Jesus and how we humans can be heirs to the kingdom of Heaven because we are his children through Adam and Eve if we choose to believe and have faith. Psalms and proverbs are always very good to read but always ask Jesus Christ to give us understanding of what we read in the bible and we will than get the correct meaning of the words of the bible through our personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ. Thanks Jaianniah very good choice.

Telementation: Cosmic Feeling And The Law Of Attraction by Jeffrey Grupp. I only got it on Friday and i've read it twice already. I am going to write a short review on Inward Quest as I think everyone should read this fantastic book I also read Ask And It Is Given for the first time this week and that was also brilliant, i'm sure that will be one that I go back to often. answered 19 Dec '10, 09:37 Radius 7.25 Ask and its given is growing on me too.

Cool. I think you'll enjoy it. I read a couple of Tolle's books about 2 years ago, The Power of Now & A New Earth. For some reason they didn't really have any effect on me. I think I will read them again, i'm a bit more knowledgeable now so i'm sure this time round I will learn something.

Hello to everyone on IQ. As a newbie here I'd just like to start by saying I am so happy there are like minded others Out there. My book is called The Handbook To Higher Conciousness' by Ken Keyes Jr, Download a PDF copy by googling: "Handbook to higher conciousness pdf worldprayerfoundation.com" There are twelve important pathways and by commitng cover to cover, you start to see a bigger universal picture if you incorporate the 12 Pathways into your daily life. Remember to always LIVE ONLY IN THE MOMENT and giving UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, will really change your life. Ken says "The world is your mirror" and "You make yourself and others suffer just as much when you take offence as when you give offence. The books message advises the closer we are to being completely free of the rational mind's attachments to emotion-backed addictions, then the closer we are to achieving a Higher Conciousness state of being. I am yet to do the work book! if anyone has a copy of it ot has complered it tgemaelves.r It really shiwed my that my addiction backed
answered 05 Jun '12, 19:20 stylin Yes, he was a very insightful man. Ken Keyes Jr also wrote a fantastic little book called "Prescriptions for Happiness" which contains three simple little rules by which to live your life to feel happy all the time - or most of the time :) I read it probably 25 years ago and still catch myself using those three rules today :)

Please read: "You" by Charles F. Haanel; it is the foundation for understanding the capstone of metaphysical wisdom; which is manifestation. The Philosopher's Stone; which is your imagination; is the heart and soul of the message of the book: "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. Whatever you imagine, think of and speak of (the laws of vibration) and hold firm; will manifest in your life. To create a miracle you have to be very clear about what it is that you want; by acting as if you already have received it, the Universe will give it to you... your spoken Words will create a powerful Universal energy, based on quantum physics. "And the Word.... was made flesh" answered 21 Feb '11, 19:37 MEK

'The Game of Life and How to Play It.' by Florence Scovel Shinn Although I like The Secret Of The Ages by Robert Collier, Florence really shows what the word and faith does, and that is all you need. This is other than the Bible which is the greatest book of wisdom for our application written even though it is hidden throughout the Bible. The Game Of life is straight forward teaching, here is what I do, here is how you can do the same. answered 10 Mar '11, 06:02 Wade Casaldi Hi Wade, yep ive read that one.Good read. On the subject of female writers ive learned a lor from Mildred Mann too.I do like books of this era, there my main mine of information at the current time.

Broadly speaking the following books contain similar exercises/advice that may help with spiritual progress: What do you mean the Third Dimension is going Away: Jim Self This is a really accessible book - highly recommended and suitable for everyone. See his website: http://www.masteringalchemy.com/ The Path of Energy Dr Synthia Andrews: A really good book packed with information about personal energy, earth energy, chakras, meridians, psychic protection etc. This would be great in conjunction with Barbara Marciniak's The Path to Empowerment as the latter book does contain some exercises but they aren't so easy to revisit as they are hidden in the text. The Hathors: Tom Kenyon Tom Kenyon http://tomkenyon.com/ is a World renowned sound healer and channels the Hathors. You can do the exercises contained in the book accompanied by amazing sound tracks from his website (some of which are free). The book also contains two CDs. One of the things I love about his work is that it is very down to earth and of course his amazing four octave voice. The Pleiadian Workbook: Amorah Quan Yin Another source of great exercises. These books are more for integration and energy work. For manifesting, I would recommend Ask and it is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks but that is covered quite well on this site. answered 27 Jan '14, 09:39 Catherine |

The Master Key System by Charles Haanel, you can find it online and rada it for free, no strings attached. He wrote it in 1912. It's in old English style of speaking, but he brings spirituality and science together and explains scientifically why Universal Law exists and is real. THe chapters are short, and you will have a mind exercise at the end of each chapter. I have read it three times and it's excellent. answered 15 Jan '17, 22:32 JLW-W |
I would have said Ask and It is Given for the very same reasons Stingray talks about on the first post. That would be the book I would chose. However, I also enjoyed the "Conversations with God" trilogy - the first book covers thought power, the existence of the soul, death and stuff relating to the individual - the other two take you off on some really fascinating journeys from Hitler to how time works. It won't be everyones cup of tea (from your picture you look like a tea drinker to me!) but it is a thought provoking read. The only downside is that it doesn't contain the practical processes contained in Ask and it is Given. I read it several years ago, was blown away by it - intended to act on it but wasn't sure how so forgot all about it until now. I might go back and revisit it! answered 05 Jun '12, 16:41 English Rose |
The bible especialy the new testament would be my favourite. The bible cantains all the laws of the universe only they are a bit hiden. Of course what I would truly like is to have PsiTek as well as Inward Quest web sites available for than you can easily attain great knowledge. answered 06 Jun '12, 02:28 Paulina 1 |
A couple come to mind: The Master Key System by Charles Haanel The Magic of Believing by Claude Bristol The Way of God by Moshe Chaim Luzzatto As a Man Thinketh by James Allen The Hidden Power by Thomas Troward The New Testament Shobogenzo-Zuimonki Many works by Swami Sivananda answered 09 Jun '12, 18:23 lozenge123 |
OK, just choosing one is hard, but I'll go with Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl, which was inspired by Frankl's time in the concentration camps. It is not "New Age" but what it teaches is basically the same: "Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms--to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way." More quotes: https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/2782.Viktor_E_Frankl answered 11 Oct '16, 17:59 Delphine |
its hard to choose just one. "Seth speaks, the eternal validity of the soul" is my current favorite, but if it had to be straight technical, the master key or the power of awareness are also life manuals. answered 15 Oct '16, 13:32 lucianoarmani |
