I used to believe in Law of Attraction but I read some people saying that it's a satanic trick. I read some verses in The Gospels which said that there is Power in Prayer and Faith, however Christ NEVER said to love ourselves or to be selfish and focus on manifesting money and pleasure. In fact, it is the devil that promotes greed and selfishness. "And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine." - Luke 4:6-7 In fact, Christ said that His Kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). He never taught to live a life of greed seeking money and power and sex. He said to Love Others as He Loves Others and that Loving Others is how His Followers are recognized (John 13:34-35). "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." - Jesus Christ (John 13:34-35) "These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you." - Jesus Christ (John 15:17-18) asked 04 Aug '19, 12:15 arpgme |
I think you are missing the point. When you make yourself strong - spiritually, materially, or in whatever way you define - you put yourself in a position to be a positive influence in this physical reality. When you let your (inner) light shine, you point the way for others to let their own lights shine. You do that by being who you really are - and that means reaching your full potential as a human being. Mountain climbers rope themselves together so that if one falls, the other strong ones hold firm and support them...they don't all throw themselves off the mountain as well thinking it would be greedy and selfish if they didn't :) By the way, it's not a particularly compelling argument to quote words from a book written a couple of thousand years ago for people living a couple of thousand years ago, most of whom even then didn't understand the allegorical nature of it, and which wasn't even written in the language that you are quoting in. Just a friendly observation :) answered 06 Aug '19, 05:27 Stingray perhaps allegory keeps keep us from climbing
