I think I have figured out why "The Secret" remains a secret. Imagine a married couple who has become very successful financially. Perhaps they grew up poor, and that provided them the motivation to start their own business and make a lot of money. I think it's fair to say that these people also appreciate what they have, because they didn't always have a lot. Now imagine that same couple having children. Common sense would tell you that the parents would use themselves as a role model for the children, so that they have the opportunity to do the same thing they did. But all too often, those children find themselves growing up in an environment where everything is handed to them. They want for nothing, and have a sense of entitlement rather than a sense of appreciation. Over time, they may even come to have contempt for what their parents have built. Not all parents are like this. Warren Buffett has said that his children will only get an inheritance after they reach their 30's, so that they have time to find their own way. And it won't be a very large inheritance; Warren plans to give most of his wealth to charity. Do you agree with this? Why or why not? And why do we teach our children something other than what we grew up with? Is this why the wisdom in books like "Think and Grow Rich" is constantly being lost, because we have to learn it ourselves? Is there no way to transfer it to future generations, for it to become part of the broader society? asked 16 Mar '10, 03:16 Vesuvius |
As I see it, there are a couple of major problems with successful people trying to teach others (including their children) to follow in their footsteps.
Situation 1: Where someone doesn't need help: Situation 2: Where someone does need help but you are too successful: So what's the solution? Simple. Don't try to teach anybody anything if they are not asking for it. And if they are asking, only answer as specifically and briefly as you can until they ask another question. If you are too far out of range for them to hear any answer, just trust that the Law of Attraction will line them up with someone who is more in range for them. So does that mean that there is nothing much you can do to save others (including your children) from learning the lessons that you already have? Yes, that's pretty much it - they have to figure it out as they go along, because that's what they came here to do (like you)...because that's where the joy of life is anyway...launching constant desires for things you want (or want to know) and coming into alignment with them. No knowledge is lost because, at any time, anyone can align their beliefs with their desires and receive any answer they want, but they have to do it themselves ultimately. If any of us really wanted to know all the answers upfront, we would allow ourselves to keep the memories of all our previous incarnations as we are born. This wiping clean that happens at each birth allows us to have a fresh, clean perspective in each lifetime from which to launch new desires. However, that doesn't mean that society is not evolving. As new desires are launched, physical reality molds and manifests around those desires to create a more evolved physical platform. And those who are being born subsequently are already up to speed with the new reality and are then launching their desires from this newer platform...and this includes the vibrational essence of the knowledge that has already entered the mainstream. So, looking at it this way, if there is any teaching at all to be done, it should be the children teaching the adults what they have forgotten :) answered 16 Mar '10, 07:04 Stingray this vibrational level reminds of when I hear of millionaire talking about making millions in real estate by buying property and building on it or fixing up places to sell. To them they are right it is a mere drop in the bucket to spend, but to me it would be nice to have that much to be able to say oh that is not much to spend.

@Wade: Because it feels like a drop in the bucket to them, the Universe responds as though it is a drop in the bucket. Millionaires are millionaires because they have no doubt that they are. http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/4079/does-it-mean-that-visualization-is-not-necessary-at-all/4086#4086

Interesting thought on LOA, I had always worked at being a millionaire or wealthy in mind. But held strongly the belief of the importance of money "every penny counts" so I felt I really knew the value of a dollar, interesting thing is I remember reading from Robert Collier something about a man selling himself short i need to find that I'll post it, but I have just found a hidden limiting belief.

Thanks for the quote, Wade - I think that says it pretty well. All the things I have now (or have achieved) that seem impressive to others who know me actually feel like no big deal to me...which is why I have them. Abraham call it the next logical step"...unless the thing you want seems like the next logical step (or, in my words, no big deal), you are still vibrationally separated from it by some distance – Stingray 0 secs ago

No, yes there is actually, I have a CD set called the millionaire mind set, this programs the mind to think like a millionaire about things. Basically always on the accumulation and growth of money and how to build more. In this way it can be transferred directly to the mind through the auditory system to the brain, I see a day coming when we identify magnetic signatures of the neural network to directly copy patterns and imprint them into those willing to have their brains imprinted with the thought patterns of millionaires, or as the case may be artist or musicians. Think of it as in the movie the Matrix downloading knowledge into the mind. I already do something very similar when I play my guitar I call tuning into the stream of thought from who I want to play like. answered 16 Mar '10, 05:47 Wade Casaldi |
In my opinion, we are spending too much time thinking about other peoples behavioral patterns and hypothetical situations. If we used the same energy to think, and teach our children to think... and constantly remind ourselves that we are ever evolving, learning and growing spiritually, I think we could be surrounded more healthier minded thinkers. answered 16 Mar '10, 08:19 emination |
