I was just reading this answer from Stingray and it reminded me of an experience, to this day, I still can't explain to myself. In September of 1999 I woke up one morning and 90% of my life dramatically changed and in a good way. It was like that from that day forward, for about 9 months - living in a perfect Vortex. Many of my "blocks" in life magically alleviated, it was like I was a new person. I remember saying things to people that just came out of my mouth without ME thinking about the words and many of those things I said helped me in so many ways. (Really hard to explain) I remember the feeling of having so many of my primary needs met. It was like the tables in my life had turned completely and I had nothing to do with it. I didn't practice any techniques nor could anticipate something like that. It lasted really strong for about 9 months then sort of leveled off for the next 4 months or so. The next 2 years many things in my life that were outside my control fell apart drastically, there was nothing I could do about many of them. It brought extreme pain and negative emotions. Looking back I always thought it was Gods way of compensating me...as in he knew those really bad things were going to happen to me and he knew there wasn't much I could do about them, so he was letting me live it up a year prior to them. My question is, was this really a vortex or more of what I have always thought of it as - a compensation? Any other perspectives? Thank You. asked 05 Aug '10, 00:13 Back2Basics Barry Allen ♦♦ |
I think what you've described there is a pretty good description of what it's like when you're in The Vortex...and also what it feels like in comparison when you are out of it. Some others have described it as having the presence of God or being in a state of flow, and I think those are reasonably good descriptions too. It's the place when you are really you...where your non-physical side and your physical side are in perfect harmony. You have enormous clarity, vision and insight during those times. When you're in the Vortex, you see life as the truly marvellous, joyous day-to-day adventure that it was always intended to be. You say the right things at the right times, do the right things at the right times. Every aspect of your life just falls perfectly into place. Solutions to problems appear in the moment that the problems appear. It seems like you have a magical touch in all you do. In contrast, when you're outside the Vortex, life is pain and struggle and pointless...and you think those In-The-Vortex people are delusional, talking nonsense and need to get back to reality :) I think this state of being in the Vortex is what ultimately most (if not every) religion/philosophy is trying to help its followers achieve...though the words/ideas that are used are often quite different ones. The difference is that Abraham (and people like me) are saying that this State of Being (which is constantly shifting and expanding) can be achieved consciously and systematically time and time again rather than it being a one-off (or occasional) fortunate accident of life. Thank you for posting your experience. answered 05 Aug '10, 01:22 Stingray @Stingray - Thank you. I am interested in learning more about the Vortex, do you recommend Ask and It Is Given?

@Back2Basics, I highly recommend all the Abraham-Hicks books. But, for me so far, Ask & It Is Given is the most useful because of its practical nature...however it was written before Abraham came up with the analogy of The Vortex. This newer book is based around The Vortex idea itself: http://www.abraham-hickslawofattraction.com/lawofattractionstore/product/SB-Vortex.html
