hi..questers.. what is the metaphysical reason for being over- weight ? just curious to know... love, light and blessings ur wayy.. supergirl.. :)) asked 23 Apr '13, 13:33 supergirl Barry Allen ♦♦ |
Bashar links the word weight with the word wait. Metaphysically speaking, energy that is not allowed to flow easily through a person's life becomes stagnant and converts into mass, often manifesting as excess weight in the physical body. When the natural flow is allowed to begin again, that mass converts back into energy and the weight vanishes. Here is Bashar explaining the idea... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpYM9QfqVmw So someone that considers themselves to be overweight could ask where in their life they are not allowing energy to flow easily? Where in their life are they blocking the natural flow? Where is the resistance? That resistance is the wait (blocking of energy flow) that leads to the weight (increase in body mass). When they're ready to give up the wait, they'll be ready to give up the weight :) answered 23 Apr '13, 16:56 Stingray Very true! Great answer - marking it as a fav!

Yup - this idea was also confirmed for me here http://www.spaceclearing.com/blog/2013/04/14/clutter-clearing-and-weight-loss/. Karen is author of Clear your clutter with Feng Shui - the basic idea is that once you get energy flowing around your home, it tends to flow in other areas of your life too.

@Stingray - what about people who are underweight then? Going by this logic then wouldnt that mean underweight people have too much energy flowing through their life and so they should be getting everything they desire (or manifesting things more easily). but it doesnt seem that way ?

@kakaboo Very clever question. I would say: underweight = waiting to gain weight :). So there would be still blocked energy or lack of energy.
(25 Apr '13, 13:12)
releaser99
@kakaboo - Who is judging whether someone is overweight or underweight? Sure, doctors may try to convince someone that a person's weight must lie within a certain range but it's ultimately always up to the individual whether they believe they are not where they want to be. It's irrelevant whether they think they are overweight or underweight, it's just that they think they are not where they really want to be. Anytime that judgement occurs, they are blocking the energy flow
(25 Apr '13, 17:06)
Stingray
@kakaboo - How that resistance to the flow manifests tends to be a personal thing. You can physically experience that painful perception in unlimited ways. Some experience it as relationship problems, some as financial problems, some as health problems, even some (many these days, it seems) as weight problems. So the answer I've given here applies not just to weight but to everything...but the question was about being overweight.
(25 Apr '13, 17:11)
Stingray
@Stingray Reminds me of Warren Buffet who eats Cheetos and drinks Coke daily and is happy with it. His beliefs are aligned with being a little bit overweight (or normal in his view). Your answer makes sense especially if you think about sumo wrestlers who want to be "overweight" or in other words "normal" in their scene. However doesn't the body live by physical laws and general agreements? And doesn't the physical body prefer to be "normal" regarding to physical laws to work properly?
(25 Apr '13, 19:17)
releaser99
@releaser99 - "doesn't the physical body prefer to be normal regarding to physical laws" - All of that is factored in automatically if you follow what feels good/right for you. I like being fairly fit and muscular. It feels right - anything else for my body feels wrong. That's my "normal". I know others for whom the phrase "couch potato" would be insulting to couches and potatoes :) ...but they seem quite happy being that way. It feels right to them. It's their "normal".

@Stingray Thanks. So I assume that your initial answer would then only apply to people who only think they are overweight in comparison to other people. Because if you weigh 729 pounds and you feel without the shadow of a doubt that you are normal...then you are normal. And your initial answer doesn't apply to you.
(25 Apr '13, 20:15)

@releaser99 - Yes, if you believe you are at a weight that is appropriate to you then you are not holding yourself in resistance to the energy flow (on that subject). It doesn't actually matter what that weight is as long as you are at peace with it. The attitude is everything. As a related side-thought, Abraham have stated clearly in the past that if you want to eat something that you think is "bad" but you stop yourself, it has the same vibrational effect upon your body as eating it :)
(26 Apr '13, 01:03)
Stingray
...it's always the attitude of "vibrational contradiction" that causes the problems, not the action that results from it. But most people have it backwards so they keep taking action from that place of contradiction (e.g. dieting) and wonder why they have such a hard time seeing any change. When the vibrational contradiction is eliminated, you can take any action you like (in this example, eat any food you like) and it won't make any difference to your body weight. Metabolism seems...
(26 Apr '13, 01:11)
Stingray
...to be the word thrown around most often when people are looking for a way to explain away this idea that there actually isn't much correlation between what you actually eat and your body weight :)

This reminds me of the five elements system of Chinese medicine. I remember that they say there is some kind of cauldron in the stomach area. It has to do with Yang energy. Oh Fusion Of The Five Elements! That was the name of the book. Also Chi Nei Tsang Both books are by author Mantak Chia These helped my Reiki understanding a lot. I have to get back to these, I forgot more than I remember. I have that someplace. I remember there is an exercise you rub your belly in circles inwards or maybe it was outwards maybe 20 or 30 times. That was suppose to do something. I can tell I barely remember what was in that but it is what you are looking for. Another exercise is called inwards smile. You imagine each organ and smile thanking it for working. answered 23 Apr '13, 15:58 Wade Casaldi @ele Yes be sure to check out the two books it came from. I posted links to the books. I remember reading some interesting findings in the hypnotist, Dolores Cannon's books about some of the people that came to her for issues of being overweight. For some of them, not all, there were a few that had came to her because no matter what they did they would always bounce back to being overweight. These were also the types of people that were consistently always overweight throughout most of their lives up until coming to her. What she found when talking directly to the subconscious of some of these was that the subconscious always had a greater purpose for keeping the individual overweight even if the conscious part of the individual didn't want to be overweight, but still saw that there was a greater purpose to why this needed to be so, so it kept forth in maintaining this. The reasons were not always the same, but some were very similar, ranging from things like, "Not having children, because this is the person's last physical life here on this planet and does not want to accumulate any karma to keep the person stuck here longer to work it off in possibly another existence here on Earth." I remember for some of them, she was able to explain to the individual's subconscious how harshly affected the conscious part of the individual was with always bouncing back to being overweight. For some of the individuals she was successfully able to get the subconscious to agree with her to not affect the person any longer and the individual wouldn't have anymore problems of regaining weight back after losing all of it. I'm not saying this is you at all by any means, but I just thought it was something definitely interesting and worth sharing since it falls into the metaphysical meaning category to your question as well. answered 23 Apr '13, 18:24 ikaruss21 |
I have a "part" that likes being overweight. She feels powerful and strong when slinging around fifty extra pounds, much to my dismay. It makes her feel both strong and unattractive to the opposite sex, which are desirable for her because of her abuse. I do not know how metaphysics plays into this- it seems pretty straightforward to me. I just recently realized this, and realized that I do not need the weight to feel empowered. I have lost 25 pounds by simply following two rules: Never eat when you are not hungry; and NEVER diet, fr that is how people end up weighing more than when they started. Dieting triggers a starvation mode in the body, and it is difficult to fight. Keeping your chakras in balance is very essential to keeping weight off, and also, thinking 'thin' also helps. I often ask myself, "Would a skinny person do this?" People who are obese often have issues with the root chakra and the heart chakra. I hope this helps! Jai answered 24 Apr '13, 05:09 Jaianniah |
I was tempted to say that its simply a matter of eating too many calories and then not burning them off. And im probably right on a physical level. But why do people do this? Theres likely to be more than one answer to this, but my main reason would be " HABIT" Many people get into a bad groove with their diet and a bad groove with excercise. answered 23 Apr '13, 17:17 Monty Riviera Insecurity and boredom (which is a symptom of insecurity).

It is an action. It is caused mostly from not taking care of your body. It is and can be a replacement for addictions. It is a true manifestation of what is wrong on the inside, directly to the outside. It is a agreement to be overweight. It is all of these things together. None of this is judgments. I'm a bit of a fat guy myself. :-) lol. Love n light rob answered 24 Apr '13, 19:04 TReb Bor yit-NE |
I have always believed overweight people are subconsciously trying to insulate themselves from being bombarded with: negativity, psychic attack, abuse or __ ( name any other negative thing we attract or that life/modern society throws our way) Obesity and all the problems it creates for the body, are epidemic in many countries today, and I believe it is because so many of us feel overwhelmed by daily life now and have no chance to diffuse that energy anymore. The generations before ours were more active, through physical work, walking more often and etc. Since we can't diffuse our outrage at being bombarded by _ many insulate themseleves from the attack through being overweight. It actually doesn't help, but it's an attempt to hide and protect. answered 25 Apr '13, 18:38 LeeAnn 1 I should add that I, myself, need to lose some weight!

One thing I have learned when working in sessions with clients is that the body never lies. It tells us what is going on within the person. To hold extra weight is strongly related to solar plexus chakra where the ego is housed. The opinions we hold of ourselves and others is housed here. Those who fear themselves the most will show it in their weight. Every time without fail. The more one decides to face and overcome their fears, no matter what weight they hold, they will begin to balance out their weight and their bodies will transform beautifully. I have witnessed this many times and it is amazing when it happens. There are times when the person will fall back into their old patterns of fear and than repeat the process. Just like cancer, weight will fluctuate until the person balances out internally. :o) answered 28 Apr '13, 09:28 teeleec "the body never lies", yes absolutely, the body is the being expressing itself and the center of the being is the solar plexus, the energy center known as the tan tien or dantien http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dantian ... the opening of this chakra increases the power to create and do, rather than the power over someone or something. In other words it increases the ability to manifest in the physical realm.

(29 Apr '13, 08:43)

YW, it is done energetically and willingly. It is a unique process to each individual. The underlying root cause is always fear-based and/or trauma-based in the DNA memory. Find the fear, feel it fully until it no longer has power over your mind.

@supergirl - Jai has an interesting viewpoint about a "part" of her manifesting this situation. My personal metaphor is that we have many "parts" all of which who have one, and only one function: To help us have a better life. So why would this "part" contribute to an overweight condition?" Because it wants you to have a better life, and its best option is to have you gain weight. Why? This is a useless question. I doubt you can get an actual, useful answer from your subconscious. BUT if you want to change this condition, your best approach is to have a quiet meditative talk with that "part". First, I don't really like diets. I agree with Jai on this. My personal approach is to never take away options. If you do this, or TRY to do this, it does not work. If you can get that part to have additional options, it will pick the most enjoyable options. I suggest that you go internally, in a meditative state and have an inner "talk" with this part. She/he/it truly wants you to have a better life, but the best option, to do this is to have you gain weight. DO NOT TRY TO TAKE AWAY THIS OPTION. Do not even try to find out what this part is trying to do. It does not matter. You are dealing with the SUB-Conscious mind. SUB-Conscious. Do I need to say SUB (as in below conscious). You know what I mean. There is something arising within you right now, listening to my words. Let it flow. Praise it for helping you have a more enjoyable life. Simply ask that sweet part if it would like additional options to help it make your life more enjoyable. For it to do its good and perfect work through you. Knowing (consciously) these options is irrelevant. Just ask if that part will take personal responsibility to find new options and use whatever options it feels is best to implement in your life, whenever it feels the situation calls for it. This is ALL the conscious mind can do. Relax and enjoy. As @white tiger says, "experience and enjoy." This works for anything you want. You will not notice immediate change, these changes will integrate into your life in ways that seem as though they have always been there. You may look back on your life with some kind of dim memory that you once had different reposnses. Damn' I really needed to remember this! Excuse me, now I want to go talk to myself . . . . answered 27 Apr '13, 09:42 Dollar Bill @dollar bill- jusstt amazinggg. I loved jai's answer as u said. N evn i hate goin on dieting.
