Refer to this question for a background and summary. Basically it's about spending a lot of money happily on a simple meal and that if someone is able to spend lots of money on a simple meal, then he is supposed to coming from an abundant mindset, since he can not even bat an eyelid when spending so much on a simple meal.

Now my question is there seems to be a conflict between these ideas. There are usually 2 groups of people I think of when we talk about people not batting an eyelid on spending so much for a simple meal:

  • People who have so much money in their life that they don't really care how much they spend on a single meal
  • People who are not so financially well off but spend a lot on simple meals without batting an eyelid may sometimes end up broke in the future

For the first group of people, of course there is no doubt that they seem to be coming from an abundant mindset.

But for the 2nd group of people, say a person who only earns $1000 a month, but spends his money on branded goods and dines out at restaurant without batting an eyelid.. and also that he doesn't save any money every month since he spends it all. Sometime later, this person may end up being in debts because he doesn't have any savings, etc. Why is this the case if he was spending money coming from an abundant mindset instead of saving up money which may have felt like lack to him in that particular situation?

Spending money without batting an eyelid should be someone in an abundant mindset. It feels like nothing or normal to the second group of people. Yet they may end up being financially broke in the future. Or are there further underlying principles behind it?

The second group would probably find that money turned up when needed. If they can spend it 'without batting an eyelid' ie no resistant thought or lack thoughts around money then they would be resistance free on the subject. It's most probable that large amounts of money would just find a way into their lives if they held that mindset but it could be just as likely that money flows in on a as-needed basis. Falling into debt would be unlikely, you can only attract debt if you feel a lack of money

@kakaboo - you have described me perfectly in the second group! I eat out a lot, enjoy spending and never save (not consciously) ..... so no assets, but I've always had money to spend and little debt. Hopefully as @yes has said, I will not attract future debt. Now how to save and start having savings and assets.... it seems contrary to the teaching of feeling yourself abundant if you have to watch every penny.

@Inner Beauty I think it depends on individuals' preferences and their beliefs. Some people feel abundant and good if they see lots of money in their bank account as it gives them a peace of mind. while others may feel abundant and good only if they spend the money

The money system is a human-made one that is often based on a "scarcity consciousness" - indeed, there are some who claim it is intended as a system of control...but that's another story :)

There are many people for whom playing the money game of having lots of pieces of paper and metal in their wallets and purses (notes & coins), or being assigned a bigger number on a bank's computer (bank balance), is not at all relevant to their lives.

For those kinds of people, they can have an abundant mindset and live a life of abundance that sometimes expresses itself through a human-made financial system and sometimes will just express itself without the need for money. For them, it doesn't matter one bit if they have, what society calls, "debts" because that's an equally meaningless human-made creation. It's their "life experience" that matters to them, not playing arbitrary financial games.

With understanding questions like this, you have to look at the alignment between someone's Beliefs, Desires and Actions. Actions here can also include the "actions" of doing vibrational work - it's anything that causes a shift in the balance between Desire and Belief.

I'll run through a few scenarios to give you an idea of how it works...

Scenario 1

  • Desire: I want abundance that is expressed through the financial system

  • Belief: I must work hard at my job, think of a great business idea, convince someone to give me the money etc.

If this person take actions that cause an alignment of their beliefs with their desire, they will end up financially well-off and they can spend freely as long as their spending doesn't do anything to cause any misalignment i.e. spending more than they believe they can make.

Scenario 2

  • Desire: I want abundance that is expressed through the financial system

  • Belief: I must spend very little and save everything I have. I must keep saving for the rest of my life and store it away.

If this miser-style person carries on aligning their beliefs (of not spending but saving) with their desire for abundance, they can still become very wealthy but not be comfortable spending it. I've actually met one millionaire who dresses virtually in rags and rides around on a battered old motor scooter (to save even more money, I presume) yet owns a business that makes a small fortune :) This kind of person would never dream of spending any money on an expensive restaurant meal yet they still have abundance (if you classify having lots of money as abundance)

Scenario 3

  • Desire: I want abundance and I don't care how it comes to me

  • Belief: I trust that the Universe is going to bring me whatever I need when I need it.

In this case, we have someone who might feel as free and easy about spending money as a Scenario 1 person but they also don't care at all about the financial system. So, if they have money, they'll spend it to feel good and if they don't have money, they'll find some other way to express their feeling of abundance. Ideas of "debt" are irrelevant to them. They might die in poverty but they'll still have found a way to live a life of joy.

This kind of person is still in an abundant mindset but they are choosing not to constrain its expression to that of a human-made money game.

Of course, there are many other variations of these scenarios but they always come down to those ideas of the balancing of Desire vs Belief.

A shortcut way of understanding the balance between Desire vs Belief is through the feeling of Expectation.

@Stingray I think I get what you mean. Some people have debts in their life but it doesn't bother them one bit and they manage to get by somehow. But what about the news which sometimes talk about fresh graduates out in the working world raking up tens of thousands of credit card debt? They probably felt good spending the money while they had it but if the debts didn't bother them they wouldn't have complained and appeared in the news.

@kakaboo - What you seem to be saying is that you've seen a news story and, from that story, you've now established an understanding of the beliefs and desires (and accompanying state of happiness) of all those referred to within the story. And then you can extrapolate that understanding to apply to all other "fresh" graduates?

I find it's difficult enough to get close to an understanding of the "Desires vs Beliefs" balance of a single individual you are talking in-depth to. I think...

(10 Jul '15, 05:11) Stingray

@kakaboo - ...Abraham even say that it is not even possible to step inside another's vibration to the extent that you can get that understanding.

Having been a news reporter myself for years, I believe I can say with a considerable level of confidence that you cannot rely on news stories to form vibrational understandings :) That's not what news stories are about - they are selective reports of physical manifestations only.

If you think you've found someone who is an exception to these...

(10 Jul '15, 05:15) Stingray

@kakaboo - ...ideas, you only need to contact them and apply some vibrational testing regarding their real attitudes to establish whether what they are thinking and feeling is truly not a vibrational match to the life they are living. If you ever find someone that isn't a match, be sure to let me know because it will be a scoop of Universal proportions :)

(10 Jul '15, 05:21) Stingray

@stingray are you saying that we cant really tell the vibrational attitude of a person just from news alone? and that even if we know a person in real life, it may also not be easy to tell the vibrational attitude of him because we are not him and cant really tell how he feels. actually I kind of thought of that but I guess I just needed a "mirror" to tell myself the same thing ~_~

(10 Jul '15, 08:37) kakaboo

@Stingray - I kind of have the scenario 3 mindset, but I also would like to be financially well-off so that I can focus on others things in my life. My question is, does the belief: "I trust that the Universe is going to bring me whatever I need when I need it." lead to never having abundance and money just going in and going out of my life? What might be a better belief to hold that might bring money in to stay, while still being able to live in a state of trust and detachment?

@kakaboo - "are you saying that we cant really tell the vibrational attitude of a person just from news alone?" - To be honest, you can't tell much about the world from news except the opinion of the news editor :) News is never about any absolute truth in the end because it is always filtered through the viewpoints of others who are observing it on your/our behalf.

@kakaboo - "and that even if we know a person in real life, it may also not be easy to tell the vibrational attitude of him because we are not him and cant really tell how he feels" - Sounds about right. Remember that we never perceive anyone in our realities anyway as they really are, only as we attract them to be. You can deliberately attract different behavior (pleasing or not pleasing) out of people as you change how you feel about them.

@Inner Beauty - "What might be a better belief to hold that might bring money in to stay, while still being able to live in a state of trust and detachment?" - Unless you are a vibrational "nerd" that tinkers with these ideas just to pull them apart and see how they work - there's a few of us here :) - you don't really need to go into that level of detail. Just find a way of feeling relief about what you currently think about your money and that is automatically setting up new...

Hi as you say @kakaboo this question is all about feeling comfortable with money. There are a few phrases in your question that sound off tone, seem off colour.

  • "for the first group of people, of course there is no doubt that they seem to be coming from an abundant mindset" ... just because someone has loads of money doesn't necessarilly mean they have an abundance mindset.
  • "say a person who earns $1000 a month, but spends his money on branded goods and dines out at restaurant without batting an eyelid" ... for me someone who doesn't bat an eyelid when doing something is masking or attempting to hide their emotions from themselves and other people. This is contrary to being in an abundant mindset.

  • "Spending money without batting an eyelid should be someone in an abundant mindset. It feels like nothing or normal for the second group" ... Someone in an abundant mindset is always happy and joyous, feeling nothing or normal is not the emotional state of abundance, showing real joy and happiness in "spending" money is an abundant mindset. Note that spend can mean "to pay out, to wear out, to exhaust", a more adapted way of thinking of it would be to exchange, to give in return for something received.

Hope that helps :)
