This question is another classic example of how you CANNOT define Biblical terminology through ignorant OPINIONS, personal FEELINGS, and blind philosophical GUESSWORK. The Bible will always define its OWN terms with incomparable precision.

According to the Bible, the answers contained within this particular forum are all INCORRECT:

(1) ‘The Word’ is NOT an abstract ‘word’.

(2) ‘The Word’ is NOT the ‘Thought of God’.

(3) ‘The Word’ is NOT ‘conditioning through education and past memory’.

(4) ‘The Word’ is NOT ‘training and perception’.

(5) ‘The Word’ is NOT ‘based upon agreements that have been and are being made’.

(7) ‘The Word’ is NOT ‘used as signposts’.

(8) ‘The Word’ is NOT a ‘matter of semantics’.

(9) ‘The Word’ is NOT the ‘first breath into sound’.

(10) ‘The Word’ is NOT the ‘beginning of the involution of the cause’.

Open your Authorized King James 1611 Bible, and let us now examine what GOD’s Words have to teach concerning ‘The Word’:

(1) ‘The Word’ is the NAME of the Second Person of the GODHEAD who was DIRECTLY responsible for all of Creation:

‘For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are ONE.’ [I John 5:7]

‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him NOT.’ [John 1:1-4,10]

‘God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;’ [Hebrews 1:1,2]

(2) ‘The Word’ is that Person of the GODHEAD who took the form of Man:

‘And the Word was made FLESH, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.’ [John 1:14]

‘And without controversy great is the Mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.’ [I Timothy 3:16]

‘Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the FLESH; and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:’ [Romans 1:1-4]

‘That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.’ [I John 1:1,3]

(3) ‘The Word’ will return to the earth as ‘The Messiah King’ at the END of the 7-Year Tribulation to destroy the enemies of Israel:

‘And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in RIGHTEOUSNESS He doth JUDGE and make WAR. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His NAME(!) is called The Word of God.’ [Revelation 19:11-13]

After reviewing these Biblical verses, I now ask YOU:

• Who do you know that is described as being ‘the Creator of all things’??

• Who do you know that is described as being ‘GOD in the Flesh’??

• Who do you know that is described as being ‘The Son of GOD’??

• Who do you know that has promised to return in the future as ‘The Messiah King’ in order to set up the global Millennial Kingdom from Jerusalem and fulfill ALL the Old Testament prophecies promised to Israel??

If you guessed ‘JESUS CHRIST’, then you are absolutely CORRECT!

Thus, according to the Scriptures: ‘The Word’ IS JESUS CHRIST!

Now, at this point, the annoyed and uninterested majority will say, ‘Hey, Concerned Citizen! So what!? Who gives a @#$% if ‘The Word’ IS JESUS CHRIST!? That particular tidbit of Biblical doctrine does absolutely NOTHING for me!!’

As usual, the annoyed and uninterested majority would be totally INCORRECT in their assessment of this great, spiritual, absolute TRUTH. You see, since ‘The Word’ is GOD, and JESUS CHRIST is ‘The Word’, then JESUS CHRIST IS GOD! The Biblical verses above are just a tiny sample of proof texts found in the Scriptures which confirm the DEITY of JESUS CHRIST.

The dogmatic teachings of the New Age Thought Movement and the Eastern religions, philosophies, and mythologies do NOT acknowledge the exclusive DEITY of JESUS CHRIST. These false belief systems mistakenly apply the unique condition of JESUS CHRIST’S DEITY to ALL OF MANKIND! In other words, these false belief systems erroneously teach that each individual person is ‘GOD’ in the EXACT same manner as was JESUS CHRIST! These false teachings also declare that, whether or not a person has ANY recollections of their original so-called ‘state of godhood’, every single person was a previously disembodied spirit possessing the innate ability to select a PHYSICAL body for themselves in order to experience this PHYSICAL world. This type of doctrinal NONSENSE is an example of SATANIC HERESY!

It appears that the dogmas of the New Age Thought Movement and the Eastern religions, philosophies, and mythologies have conveniently forgotten or ignorantly neglected [3] vital Biblical TRUTHS concerning the DEITY of JESUS CHRIST:

(1) The DEITY of JESUS CHRIST is based on a foundational event which GOD performed only ONCE and will NEVER perform again: THE VIRGIN BIRTH!

‘Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a VIRGIN shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.’ [Isaiah 7:14 – ‘Immanuel’ means ‘God with us’]

‘Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, BEFORE THEY CAME TOGETHER, she was found with child of the HOLY GHOST(!).’ [Matthew 1:18]

(2) The DEITY of JESUS CHRIST is confirmed by a foundational event which occurred only ONCE and will NEVER happen again: THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST!

‘Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have POWER to lay it down, and I have POWER to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.’ [John 10:17,18]

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, ‘What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?’ Jesus answered and said unto them, ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ Then said the Jews, ‘Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he (Jesus) spake of the temple of HIS BODY. When therefore he (Jesus) was RISEN FROM THE DEAD, his disciples remembered that he (Jesus) had said this unto them; and they BELIEVED THE SCRIPTURE, and the word which Jesus had said.’ [John 2:18-22]

(3) The DEITY of JESUS CHRIST is exclusively defined ONLY in relation to GOD Himself choosing to take the form of a MAN in order to offer HIS BLOOD as the ONLY acceptable PAYMENT for the forgiveness of MAN’S SINS!

Observe what the Apostle Paul says to the elders at Ephesus concerning the Body of Christ:

‘Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with HIS OWN BLOOD.’ [Acts 20:28]

Now, for the benefit of all the ‘would-be gods’ out there, let us review the Biblical REQUIREMENTS that someone MUST fulfill if they believe to possess the DEITY of JESUS CHRIST:

• JESUS CHRIST (as ‘The Word’ made FLESH) was directly responsible for ALL OF CREATION!

• JESUS CHRIST (as ‘The Word’ made FLESH) was the product of a VIRGIN BIRTH!

• JESUS CHRIST (as ‘The Word’ made FLESH) had the POWER OF LIFE!

• JESUS CHRIST (as ‘The Word’ made FLESH) shed HIS BLOOD for the eternal SIN ATONEMENT!

Do you not realize that, if ALL MEN possess the DEITY of JESUS CHRIST, then ALL MEN are claiming to be (‘The Word’ made FLESH)?? Do you not realize that, if ALL MEN possess the DEITY of JESUS CHRIST, then ALL MEN are claiming to share the same authority, exclusivity, and power which belong ONLY to Jesus Christ?? How can these things be TRUE?? Is there really ANYBODY out there who HONESTLY believes that they are DIRECTLY responsible for ALL of Creation?? Is there really ANYBODY out there who HONESTLY believes that they are the product of a VIRGIN BIRTH?? Is there really ANYBODY out there who HONESTLY believes that they have the POWER to lay down their life and to take it AGAIN?? Is there really ANYBODY out there who HONESTLY believes that they have DIVINE BLOOD?? Does ANYBODY out there HONESTLY believe that they can meet ALL of these requirements in order to PROVE that they possess the DEITY of JESUS CHRIST??

Allow me to be brutally HONEST with you:

• BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF CREATION, THEN YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST!

• BECAUSE A MAN’S SPERM WAS INVOLVED IN YOUR CONCEPTION, THEN YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST!

• BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO WALK OUT OF YOUR GRAVE WITH A NEW GLORIFIED BODY AFTER BEING BURIED FOR [3] FULL DAYS, THEN YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST!

• BECAUSE YOUR BLOOD CANNOT WASH AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD, THEN YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST!

• BECAUSE YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST, THEN YOU ARE NOT ‘The Word’!

In conclusion, we can clearly see how the ABSOLUTE teachings of the Bible stand APART from the false doctrines of the WORLD’S belief systems. The act of associating ‘The Word’ with ANYTHING visible or invisible which belongs to the world results in GROSS DOCTRINAL ERROR! The Bible NEVER teaches that ‘The Word’ is ever associated with the Law of Attraction, science, philosophy, psychology, relativism, meta-physics, parallel universes, black holes, evolution, manifestations, resonations, vibrations, meditations, alignments, focus blocks, EFT’s, Faster EFT’s, Reiki, auras, astral projections, mind power, dream states, mysticism, the occult, yoga, reincarnation, the ego, the sub-consciousness, the super-consciousness, the Christ-within, the Higher Self, Source energy, the Vortex, Hinduism, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Islam, Allah, or any of the groups, sects, and cults of FALSE RELIGIOUS CHRISTIANITY (Roman Catholicism, Greek Orthodoxy, Seventh Day Adventism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc).

The Bible teaches that ‘The Word’ is the NAME of a PERSON!

I interpret the Word of God as being the Thought of God. Change "the Word" to "Thought" in the above passage and see what happens. All things are (directly or indirectly) made through thought.

Its just a matter of semantics. As long as there is a common understanding of the idea that is being conveyed it really does not matter.

I feel God does own the essence of the word, although it has come through men.
