I have been thinking about our will lately. Which in my opinion is the directing of attention. In other words, my will power is the movement of my attention to where ever I focus it. Assuming the infinite intelligence is God. How do you follow God's Will? or What is God's Will? asked 23 Oct '09, 09:45 RPuls Barry Allen ♦♦

God's will, or the will of Infinite Intelligence, is for us to become all that we can become, to fulfill all of our potential. If our will is the directing of attention as you say, then we would direct our attention toward that end, to move in the direction that will best advance our development in all areas of our life. You follow God's will be making choices and taking action. For me, the most important aspect of this is to move toward being perfected in love, that is, the condition of heart where I desire nothing but the best for every other person and for myself. This is to seek to embrace all of humanity in a loving embrace that does not seek to control or restrict, but encourages and assists each one in becoming all that they can become. Love joins people in a union with each other, as it joins us in union with God, and there is a resulting synergy where the total benefit to all, is greater than the sum of the benefits added by the individual parts. Can a creator ever stop creating? This is the will of Infinite Intelligence/God... to eternally be creating. For us, as co-creators, to eternally be creating and becoming. answered 23 Oct '09, 10:22 John You mention, You follow God's Will by makin choices and taking action. Do you mean you make the best choice that is the most loving then act upon that choice. This is following God's will?

Essentially, yes. I recognize that our decisions are based on the information we have on hand at the moment, though, and we may have to make changes later on based upon new information. But within the boundaries of loving action, as we see it, I believe we move forward as God would have us move. Sometimes I think it appropriate to speak in terms of being "within" God's will rather than to say we are exactly doing God's specific will. The reason I say that is that some people see a need to seek God's specific direction to, let's say, what to eat today.

I think God's will is not so specific as to tell us "eat your broccoli, not the cheeseburger" but is broad enough to allow us free choice within certain parameters which include any number of choices which will benefit us and others. Asking God, "should I eat carrots or broccoli?" God would reply, "I don't care! Either one is fine!" Believe it or not, there are quite a few people who are that specific in trying to find and abide by God's will. And this answer doesn't differentiate between the traditional Judeo-Christian God, or Infinite Intelligence.

In both cases, that which is there to guide us (God) is there for our growth and development, and through us, the betterment of humankind.

Since all is one and God/Source is in all and everyone then everything you do is the will of God for your will is the same. Once you stop feeling separate from the Oneness and let go and see others as yourself you will feel the "God" in all. You will no longer be afraid. I had a similar question. Here are the responses. What is God’s will? And how do you follow God’s will? answered 09 Jan '10, 11:30 RPuls |
Hello… From a Biblical perspective, a brief analysis of GOD’s Words will reveal the following: (1) The Bible declares what IS the will of GOD. (2) The Bible declares how a man can KNOW the will of GOD. (3) The Bible declares how a man can FOLLOW the will of GOD for his life. Therefore, in relation to the [2] questions: What is GOD’s will? “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” [II Peter 3:9] “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” [I Timothy 2:3,4] “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.” [Ezekiel 18:23,32] Contrary to popular belief, GOD is not some spiritual tyrant with unresolved anger issues whose goal is to cast everybody into Hell in order to satisfy the primal urges of some lustful spiritual depravity. The verses above are among hundreds in the Bible which prove that GOD’s will is that all men would choose to REPENT(!) of their sins and establish an eternal relationship with Him through the blood-sacrifice of Jesus Christ (GOD in the Flesh). GOD has indeed made the WAY. Now, man must exercise his FREE WILL and personally choose GOD’s free gift of salvation: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” [Romans 6:23] How do you follow GOD’s will? “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” [Romans 12:2] “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” [I John 2:15-17] “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.” [Psalms 119:10-16] Firstly, a man must not be conformed to this world. The ways of this world are contrary to the ways of GOD. The world is in darkness and embraces SIN. The Holy GOD is light and judges SIN. The friendship of the world is enmity with GOD. A man who will be a friend of the world is the enemy of GOD [James 4:4]. Thus, a man that is in the world can never “follow GOD’s will” for his life because he has not yet dealt with the issue of SIN in his life. Secondly, a man must personally choose to become BORN-AGAIN through the blood-sacrifice of Jesus Christ in order to be sanctified and transformed by the renewing of his mind. This operation of GOD takes a man out of the world, places him into the invisible Body of Christ, gives him the mind of Christ, and allows him to discern and judge all spiritual matters by the power of the Spirit of Christ in him [I Corinthians 2:14-16]. Without the Spirit of Christ in him, a man does not belong to GOD and will never be able to discern if he is “following GOD’s will” for his life [Romans 8:8,9]. Thirdly, a man with the Spirit of Christ in him will forever cleave unto the Words of GOD. He will desire to know everything about GOD’s commandments, statutes, judgments, testimonies, precepts, prophecies, and ways. Having an intimate knowledge of these things will allow a man to prove whether he is in the “good” will of GOD, the “acceptable” will of GOD, or the “perfect” will of GOD pertaining to all aspects of his personal walk with GOD. As a man increases his spiritual intimacy with GOD through the Spirit of Christ, he will also increase the reflection of GOD in him. Thus, in an ever-increasing fashion, he will grow to love what GOD loves, and he will grow to hate what GOD hates. This growth of grace, knowledge, and judgment will eventually permit a man to ensure that he is indeed following GOD’s “perfect” will for his life. Please note that a man’s success in “following GOD’s will” for his life begins with literal OBEDIENCE to GOD’s Words. If a man believes the Bible to be “hogwash”, “metaphorical”, “allegorical”, “fiction”, “irrelevant”, “myth”, or “stupid”, then the aforementioned Bible verses will have no profitable spiritual significance to him. Until a man truly decides in his heart that he will do what GOD wants, when GOD wants, how GOD wants, where GOD wants, and why GOD wants, that man will always remain OUTSIDE the “will of GOD” for his life. Thanks for reading. Concerned Citizen answered 29 Jul '10, 21:49 Concerned Citizen |
First thing you do is ask God and Jesus Christ your self Lord help me do your will or what is your will for me. He will give you an answer either directly you will hear it in your head, see it while watching tv, read it in an e-mail. or get an telephone call with the answer within it or what ever it will come the answer. You will know the answer came straight from God when you get it. For one thing God is all about love. Loving him, loving yourself, and loving others. Praying to the Lord Jesus which is simply talking him often and also having an since of graditude and thankfulness for all they have done, is doing and will do for us. The main thing is to stay in connection with Jesus Christ, God, Holy Spirit feel them within you for when you are connected to God through Jesus who die on the cross for our sins than you know within yourself that they are real. You know something has just click with me we always to some it is Jesus Christ or God or for some it is the universal source as for me it is Jesus and I just now completely understood something hope you don't mind me sharing this with you but we always come to God and ask for this or that help in this or that and we don't ever doubt his power or ability to do it but sometimes we wonder will he do this particular thing for us we are asking and probably in need or want of. When he told us in the begining ask and yea shall receive, seek and yea shall find, knock and the door shall be open. He also told us not to doubt for that cancel it out. So I was always wondering would he do this for me for it was very important deverstating. But he came and told me I told you not to doubt and I told you to ask and yea shall receive so you are suppose to believe you have it when you ask and not doubt. I just now have completely one of the puzzle. Thank you Jesus for reminding me of what you said and what you meant. For if we seek God and Jesus Christ first than all these other things will be added unto us period end of sentence. That is it. Seek yea the kingdom of God which is seek God through Jesus Christ and all these things will be added unto you. You must believe God and Jesus Christ are real; you must believe this and that he create you in his image and that you are one with the Lord Jesus. You know Jesus is the word of God manifest into flesh and Jesus said we can do what he has done and greater things than what he has done. Wow, that is so powerful and wonderful. answered 24 Oct '09, 04:53 flowingwater |
The Bible teaches: that he will be judged according to his stripes. What this means is that you will be judged according to the work that you do for God. How do you feel about what God has asked you to do? Is it to provide a service to mankind, and society? If so, then it is a good thing, you will receive blessing, and rewards from God for the work that you do in his name. How you know if it is the spirit of God within you are hearing? Because the spirit of truth do not lie, and if you faith in God, then you will believe in the spirit of truth, and you will do the work you are asked to do in the name of God. You will have no doubts, or reservation, because you will know in your heart it is the right thing to do. It is a spiritual experience, so you will know that is what you are expected to do. The voice from within is the spirit within, if you believe in God, you will believe in his words. The Bible teaches: Blessed is he, who hears with his ears, and do not see with his eyes, but yet believes within his heart! answered 09 Jan '10, 03:20 Inactive User ♦♦ |
Do you even have to ask what God’s will is, and how do you follow God’s will? Look around, and stop for a minute and think, and really look around you, above, and below, what do you see? God’s will! My friend you are surrounded by God’s will in everything you see, touch, smell, and hear, and in everything you do, and create in your life! God created man in his own image and likeness, and breathe the breath of life into man giving man life, therefore, every foot step that you take, you take it in the name of the Lord and without his breath of life flowing through your body, you would not be able to take those foot steps to follow him, in body, mind, spirit and in every thing you do! So, my friend you do not have to concern yourself, as to how do you follow God’s will, because you are God’s will! answered 07 Apr '11, 03:45 Inactive User ♦♦ |

God's will as you have put it or the reason we are here is to enjoy the experience on earth and grow from it, spiritually. We should be excited about having new desires born everyday and enjoying the journey to the desire being manifested. I used to think that my purpose in life is to launch new desires and enjoy the physical manifestation of it. But then with time, I realised that the enjoyment of the physical manifestation was very short-lived and then the next desire comes along. I now know that the greatest enjoyment/thrill comes from the journey (from the moment we have launched the desire and the moment the physical thing manifests). Hence why I try and enjoy the ride everyday even though it does get bumpy at times. answered 23 Oct '09, 18:11 Pink Diamond |
God's will for us is that we work together in harmony, as one body. Jesus said that the most important of the commandments was to love God with all that we are and to love each other as ourselves. He also said that the church is the body of Christ. We have free will and can choose our behavior. The cells in our bodies do not. They each serve a purpose, do their part and get along. Every other thing in the universe does it's part, but we have free will to do what we choose. To live harmoniously, or not. Somewhere along the way, we collectively forgot that we are one body and that we need to work together and do our part, not somebody else's part. An eye is an eye, not a foot. If we expect the eye to serve as a foot, we will harm the body. If we are an eye and try to serve as a foot, we harm the body. So we must do what we are made to do, what is best for the body, not for just ourselves. In turn, we will be healthier and happier if we are a part of a healthy happy body. answered 03 Apr '11, 21:28 Fairy Princess |
Gods will can only be realized once you look inside because God is inside of you and God is inside of me. God is in everything. You cannot separate the Creator from the creation. Look inside of yourself and you will be able to see what Gods will is for you. The way to follow it is to SURRENDER. To let go of all you know and thought to be true, let go of what is comfortable to you. Step into the unknown where God wants you to be which is inside of you. This can be done through meditation or just stillness and working on your presence power.
