We have seen a lot on the Law of Attraction here, there is much I agree on with it. However if we take Jesus Sermon On The Mount and applied it to the Law of Attraction it seems to oppose The Law of Attraction.
7, 8, 9 Fit LOA, the rest seems to oppose LOA. If I had to apply the Law of Attraction to these and Jesus was teaching LOA here these would be more like this.

I did an internet search and came across the following "Law of Attraction" style interpretations of a few of those passages. This might be the kind of thing you are after. answered 04 Sep '11, 22:16 Stingray Excellent answer, yes when the words are understood for what they truly mean then we see it is not negative to positive but positive to positive. The problem is in today's words they seem to say for example: "the thirst for righteousness" as someone that was hurt or had wrong done to him and he wants some kind of emotional compensation. Or meek being like someone timid, afraid and unassuming. These links especially the last one are great and clear up why at times Jesus talks of LOA and others seem to be opposite. It is all in the meaning of the words chosen.

Jesus firstly and foremostly taught Love. Love and non-judgement make one compationate towards his fellow human beings. Even compationate human beings need to eat and clothe themselves and provide a roof over their heads. Those teachings that Jesus gave that we today call the LOA are a gift to humanity. Lets hope that humanity will use those gifts with love and compation and non-judgement. answered 10 Sep '11, 08:57 Paulina 1 |
Law of attraction is only one of the many mechanisms governing the life. It would be more appropriate to refer those passages to the law of karma, the universal justice. Even if it seems there is no justice when looking at a finite section of time, kings will eventually be born anew as beggars, and beggars will rise to being kings. answered 10 Sep '11, 09:49 Asklepios I'd be interested to know what source you have got these fairly definite statements about Karma from. I've been investigating Karma for years and the only thing that I can honestly say is that it's simply a (often, limiting) belief system like any other...if you want Karma to operate in your life, it happily will and if you want to step outside of it, you can do that too...but it's you doing it to you

i agree with ourultimatereality-beatitudes cited by stingray. as in other religions, once the laws were codified, they were enforced to the letter; however, the spirit of the laws was lost. answered 06 Feb '13, 15:52 don multimateriality-beatitudes, yes i love it, multidimensionality is a natural phenomenon - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synergy

thanks ru-bis for the link. gestalt is a related term meaning the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. i am after wholeness of being. Eckhart Tolle in Practicing The Power of NOW: "when you have reached a certain degree of presence, you don't need negativity anymore.." i found this to achieve maximal presence.

wade, you evidently believe that this is all that there is, and have accepted pampering the self. Just what if there is a destiny for each of us and this lifetime is but a drop in the bucket
Fred, your comment makes no sense to me at all. I wish you would elaborate a bit, so that I can try to understand what you are getting at...>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Fred seems to be saying he believes sometimes Jesus was wrong. Is that your correct belief Fred?
you forgot #6 wade it fits with loa. but that was not for loa but was for righteousness in the eye of god. as for # 11 if people do evil to you it is because you are not evil.by being not evil and doing good you attract good. but in that time there was even more carnal men then today. you will ask me what is a carnal men? someone that is of this world and not from the spirit.
Well guys, Jesus may have taught LOA stuff, but he also taught unconditional love. All the above blessed statements include the idea of unconditional love, which itself is a metaphysical principle :)
@White Tiger remember when you want something you do not have "Thirst for" you experiencing the lack of the thing you want by the LOA. That was why I did not include 6 as fitting in.
@Eddie Yes very true it is about unconditional love but as well he is showing things will change for the people and did not say as example "If you do this things will change." Sort of like he was expressing a law that things will change for the better just as people are wanting, thirsting, hungering, needing, their needs will be fulfilled without having to apply any effort.
well wade when you thirst for something you want it badly. in that way it is not a lack but a need to get more.
If you want something then you do not have it, according to Abraham/Hicks and Avatar EPC and many other proponents of thought creates the act of wanting produces more wanting.
@fred as told the truth. Many of you are seing only LOA that is incomplete. i will remind you this teaching from the tao: Empty of desire, perceive mystery. Filled with desire, perceive manifestations. These have the same source, but different names. Call them both deep- Deep and deep again deep: The gateway to all mystery.
The secret waits for the insight Of eyes unclouded by longing; Those who are bound by desire See only the outward container.
These two come paired but distinct By their names. Of all things profound, Say that their pairing is deepest, The gate to the root of the world.
