Matthew 22:26-30 says,"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Originating from this verse, we must see that everyone on the planet is our neighbor now! Jesus did not say that our neighbors were limited- and since we have become a global community, and since global warming is affecting the entire global community, then our neighbors are that global community- everyone on Earth is our neighbor. A report was published in 2009 by the USGCRP in 2009 that establishes beyond a doubt that Global Warming is a fact. Here are the key points from that report: 1. Global warming is unequivocal and primarily human-induced. Global temperature has increased over the past 50 years. This observed increase is due primarily to human-induced emissions of heat-trapping gases. (p. 13)
The amount and rate of future climate change depend primarily on current and future human-caused emissions of heat-trapping gases and airborne particles. Responses involve reducing emissions to limit future warming, and adapting to the changes that are unavoidable. (p. 25, 29) http://globalchange.gov/publications/reports/scientific-assessments/us-impacts/key-findings God gave man dominion over the Earth in Genesis 1:28. This verse seems to imply that we are supposed to "conquer" Earth (dominion). But if we look at the verse, and the language from which it comes, a more proper translation of Genesis 28 would read like this:“Be fruitful and have children, filling the earth with your life so that you can have power to fight against everything in it that leads to death. Rule with care and fairness over the natural world, over the myriads of My beautiful creatures - from tropical fish to soaring eagles to dogs and cats – every creature that is a part of this living world.” Here is a link which explains this idea. I think it is time that we heed the words of the Bible, and realize that we have a spiritual duty to do something to stop global warming. I have heard people joking about the bad weather- the droughts in the South, the floods of the north, the melting of the permafrost in Alaska, the shrinking of the ice on both poles- and saying that the "End Times" are coming. This is nonsense. Instead, we are not heeding the words of both God and Jesus by ignoring what we are doing to the planet. So is it is time to make a shift in our thinking, and realize that we are disobeying God in what we are doing to Earth? Is it is time to make conquering global warming a spiritual battle that we must dedicate our hearts to reversing? Thoughts? Blessings, Jaianniah asked 13 Sep '11, 14:13 Jaianniah |
You're not going to like this answer one bit, but I think it has to be said...
No, because humans are not responsible for "Global Warming" - it's a natural planetary phenomenon. The idea of humans inducing long-term "Climate Change" is just one of the many fear-based propagandas that are spread on this planet to keep the general population in a perpetual state of feeling out of control of their lives. It's got you worried, hasn't it? Effective, huh? :) See some of the answers to: Global warming, What are your thoughts If you manage to keep people locked into fear-based thought patterns, they will experience fear-based manifestations but it won't be because of what is really happening, it will be because of what they believe is happening. As for the value of quoting scientific reports as "fact", see Do scientists just make up their own answers? answered 13 Sep '11, 20:03 Stingray well in fact we are stingray. with industrial polution, nuclear weapon, nuclear plant, war

but stingray i agree with you that even if you did not take your car it would not make a big change. it seams that 90% is industrial polution.

well we all make choice in this world. and choice have consequence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_nuclear_explosions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMrWIRjPBac Fukushima Daiichi No 1 plant – Japanese media said officials had detected caesium, one of the elements released when overheating causes core damage, around a reactor at Fukushima No 1 plant in Futuba, 150 miles (240km) north of Tokyo. The plant has six reactors, three of which have been shut down for maintenance. – The Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) said it did not believe a meltdown was under way, but Ryohei Shiomi, an official with Japan's nuclear safety commission, said that it was possible http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/12/japan-earthquake-tsunami-aftermath-live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCeYiE9ZHaA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zql37rP8W6c&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJe7fY-yowk do you not find it strange that the water try to go in the nuclear plant? is their a message there? answered 14 Sep '11, 03:37 white tiger |
I didn't follow the links provided by Stingray, but I somewhat agree with the probability of it being a fear-based propaganda of which we seem to have so many over the course of human history. If you read the book, Gods of Eden by William Bramley, it might give you some food for thought about a lot of beliefs that we hold. If we humans are indeed responsible for Global Warming, then the only thing we are doing is slowly killing ourselves, Earth itself will still be here. As for following spiritual laws to conquer Global Warming, I'd think following the laws of Mother Earth would be far more appropriate and important than what is quoted or should I say often misquoted and skewed from the bible. But this is just my opinion and as you may have noticed, I'm a little bit anti-religion and definitely cynical about the bible since I know that several passages have been removed and probably many of the true meanings have been lost in translation. With love and light :) answered 14 Sep '11, 08:10 akaVienne |
Another unknown and little fact is that ALL the planets in the solar system are also warming up. Could it be that each and every planet have inhabitants that are warming their individual planets? Or, are we in a hot sun cycle, and the greedy politicians new this ahead of time, bought millions of dollars of carbon credits that they thought they were going to sell to the masses and got stuck with them, are in a panic and now are trying to scare the hell out of everybody get their money back. It kind of got blown away when the e-mails got hacked into, and they found that scientists were fudging figures to make it seem like we were doing all this damage, when we were not. Remember who pays the scientists paycheck, the trail goes back to the carbon credits. Oh yeah, ONE active volcano puts out more garbage than the existence of man on this planet. I would put my money on an asteroid, a super volcano, a magnetic pole flip (pending) or massive earthquake. That will thin us out enough for the earth, We are not that powerful YET. answered 14 Sep '11, 22:33 The Knights Alchemy always an intriguing answer from The Knights Alchemy

If you believe thoughts are things then the constant warnings just brings the the thoughts to our minds and creates them. It is like in times of so called downturns in the economy the media starts telling us long before to plant the seed of the thought..key words like recession, inflation etc.The same can be true with global warming. answered 16 Sep '11, 09:19 ursixx |
