This question actually came up in my Theology Class I am taking. I thought about it a lot, and finally figured out that to me, salvation comes through Faith. But you may not agree; that's okay. So, I ask: What does the word "salvation" mean to you? I am looking forward to the global answers that will be posted here. Peace, Jai asked 23 Feb '12, 01:27 Jaianniah

Salvation to me means a full realization of our true nature...living from a place of Oneness, in that state of awareness where everything and everyone is interconnected and all derive from the same Source (whatever you choose to call that Source). answered 23 Feb '12, 17:43 Michaela |
Well Jai, with this kind of question, to stimulate my imagination, i usually use that magic book of all books ... the dictionary ; it gives several definitions of the word salvation and the definition i prefer is ... "the act of preserving or the state of being preserved from harm" ... this certainly fits in with my belief have fun :) answered 23 Feb '12, 03:06 blubird two 1
@ele - yes, but "the state of being preserved from harm" implies a belief in the existence of harm

@blubird I'm convinced. However, one can self harm; if that's the intent or vibration. sorry, was not a conscience decision on my part to put my apology under your question; it was a surprise to me. It seems I've always been surrounded by angels, protecting me from harm & w/o thought guided me to a spirit shield.

salvation for me is being in the truth.God is the spirit of truth. yes you say to your self that is to easy answer. but look at it this way when you are in truth does annything hurt you? when someone is telling you lie that will hurt you. but if you know the truth about the lie why he lie and for what perpace then you know what this person is doing and for what reason is it a selfish reason or is it because he did not have anny other choice? when you know the truth about it does it hurt you anny more? or will it help you make better choice? if you know the truth about what comes after this life on earth does it hurt you to know that your body will die someday but that your spirit that is you will never die? "God our Savior; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."—1 Timothy 2:3, 4. http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/1516.htm

But, if teachers of the word of God do not consent with these three factors, they are false teachers. We must reject them. "1 Tim 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, ... 5 ... from such withdraw thyself"
We think that people commit sin because of their lustful desire. As true as it is, the devil began sin and he makes people to commit sin. The Lord Jesus Christ came to destroy the work of the devil and free people. "1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." If we still sin we are of the devil.
Anybody will obey his/her Lord because the Lord is the master. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and obey him. "Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." He overcame as a man. So, you can also overcome. If you do you will rule with him. Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. Isaiah 61:10 I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. answered 23 Feb '12, 17:36 white tiger |
is it salvation that set into motion answered 23 Feb '12, 19:38 fred those that have eyes to see and ears to hear will find their salvation. and because they will have their salvation they will not die in their sin. the dead are not alive and the living will not die. do not be surprise at my saying if one walk in darkness and does not see the way he will fall, but if one walk in the light he can see the way and will not fall.

Salvation to me is the freedom to choose and move from one state to another state. The freedom to dislike a certain situation and be able to move out of that situation into another one. If your ill salvation is being in a state where your well. If your poor salvation would be to move into a state where your rich. Even the freedom to move from a fairly pleasant state to another one could be salvation. After all, wouldn't it be a living hell to be stuck, stranded or beached in one state for the rest of eternity. Even if that state wasn't too bad! answered 20 Oct '13, 08:43 Monty Riviera A really astute answer, @Monty Riviera! Deeply philosophical, too. It will give me food for thought for time to come! Thanks. Love, Jai♥

@Jai Would you mind sharing your definition of faith? Thanks..
Salvation from hunger is food. From thirst is water. From pain is relief. From despair is hope. From slavery is power. From ignorance is knowledge. From stupidity is wisdom. From sickness is health. What is faith? Faith is fidelity, loyalty, trust. It is claimed that faith in that which is not seen can bring it into sight. Faith then is the key to salvation and infidelity the fundamental sin.
