As everyone knows meditation has a string of psychical and mental benefits which is even accepted by the mainstream now.I have felt the benefits myself, calmer, relaxed, more syncronicity, everything falling into place I keep being inspired to meditate although at the same time I find it hard to do it on a daily basis. My question is this,Is meditation like a slow-burn manifestation method to everything you want and want to be and is it a case of more is better? Thanks asked 07 Dec '11, 10:06 Satori

I think meditation can be a cure-all. I use the word "can" there because it seems to me there is an indirect link only between meditation and experiencing positive life experiences (physical manifestations). Here's how it works...
As you can see from the process above, this technique relies on you being willing to give up those old habits of resistant thought and not being willing to experience the serious emotional pain that will come about if you don't let go of them. Some people, however, for whatever reason, are not willing to "let go" of those resistant thoughts. And now the increased contradiction in energy flow (as a result of regular meditation) will eventually manifest itself in their life as painful, sometimes extreme, life situations. It's like being stuck, as the saying goes, between a rock and a hard place. Eventually, something has to give and it's usually the physical body that gives out first. So they get manifestations like heart attacks or strokes, or similar extreme stuff, despite their regular meditations. Or, alternatively, if you are outwardly-focused, you can be involved in serious accidents or major life crises. The physical manifestations are just mirroring the inner struggle between one part of you that wants more alignment and another part of you that is refusing to "let go". So, from what I've said above, I would recommend that if anyone starts a process of regular meditation, they should also be willing to engage in some flexibility of thought i.e. be less rigid about what you believe and be willing to try and experiment with new ideas that flow into your life as your vibrational attitude changes. As for whether more meditation is better, I wouldn't say that it is. All you really need is a reminder of what the state of resistance-free is like and you can get that within 15 minutes. I don't personally see any value in keeping yourself in a meditative state beyond that. You projected yourself into this physical reality to experience physical reality, not to hide away in meditative states. It's like going on vacation to a foreign country and then, instead of exploring the wonders of the new country, just sitting in your hotel room watching satellite TV from home. Doing that kind of defeats the purpose of the original journey :) answered 07 Dec '11, 14:06 Stingray Thank you Stingray. An amazing insight into meditation.definitely answered my question. If you dont mind me asking do you still use the Abraham-hicks meditations? Thanks:)

Glad it was useful for you, Satori. No, I don't use the Abraham-Hicks meditations. That's not because I think there is anything wrong with them - at some point in the future, I may return to them. I think they are great and highly effective if you master the associated breathing pattern. At heart, I'm just a bit of an experimenter and explorer with spiritual ideas and techniques and I regularly get inner impulses to try new and unusual things. So I'm just trying some of those things, that's all :)

laugh ha ha ha. sorry stingray but by reading your post. i needed to laugh. if that is what you are experiencing you are not meditating like you should. you say it makes you feel good but after you incounter resistense in your life and it hurt you. if you go in and solve the problem when you come out it will not disturb you anny more.

@Stingray - LOVE IT! Concise and very well done! Great analogy "It's like going on vacation to a foreign country and then, instead of exploring the wonders of the new country, just sitting in your hotel room watching satellite TV from home." 15 minutes is enough for my wife and myself also.

Just to add to Stingrays answer: If all you do is 15 minutes of meditation a day.... You've tipped the scales of your life! Instead of 15 minutes of negative, plague- causing thoughts, you now have just given 15 minutes of goodness into your life. It's seems way too simple, but that's it. Meditate for 15 minutes per day and your life will become better, I promise :) answered 07 Dec '11, 14:42 Nikulas Thanks Nikulas.Your answer resonates with me:)

Very glad to be able to share this information I've collected over the months and believe to be ever so true. Unfortunantly, it's obvious most minds cannot accept the idea of how something so simple and seemingly small can have necular bomb style effects. I was one of those minds. In the beginning after I had a meditation session, I ALWAYS said to myself "Gee, that's was wonderful! Why did I procrastinate doing that all those years?!" Meditation...It really sharpens everything up.

satori you are using a pc right now. your pc has physical property(hardware) and a mind(processor) with memory(storage)? when you use the pc and something is not working what do you do? you look is the problem with the hardware? is the problem with the processor or storage? and when you find the problem you fix it.then you are happy the problem is fix. well meditation is like that. do you clean your pc often? do you fix the problem in the pc? do you use internet? if you just clean the pc and do not fix the problem well the problem will still affect you. but if you take care of your pc it will last longueur with less problem. before you have know how to do math it was like something to big and complicated for you then you have learn some truth about it 2+2=4 now you know the meaning of 2+2.if you would not know the meaning of 2+2 each time you would see it and need to use it in your life it would be a problem for you. then that 2+2 would be somewhere in your mind unsolved and disturbing you.it is the same in you and that you believe me or not will not change annything? is it a cure all? in a way yes because if you know your self body mind spirit you can solve alot more things on 3 level. if you just know and use the body then you use only 1/3 of your self. also all though and emotion are with in(mind level) even physical pain are controlled by the mind with no mind or a control of the mind = no pain. also by knowing your self you can know other. i am sure you once have hear this quote: know thyself to know others. or this quote:Know [the] other, know [the] self, hundred battles without danger; not knowing [the] other but know [the] self, one win one loss; not knowing [the] other, not knowing [the] self, every battle must [be] lost. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Sun_Tzu so experience and enjoy. Words crystallize the spirit in the place of power. The sixth month the white snow is suddenly seen to fly. The third watch the disk of the sun sends out shining rays. The water blows the wind of gentleness. Wandering in Heaven, one eats the spirit-power of the receptive. The deeper secret within the secret: land that is nowhere, that is the true home. http://www.alchemylab.com/golden_flower.htm In the Thomas gospel, Jesus is presented as a spiritual guide whose words (when properly understood) bring eternal life (Saying 1). Readers of these sayings are advised to continue seeking until they find what will enable them to become rulers of their own lives (Saying 2) and thus to know themselves (Saying 3) and their legacy of being the children of "the living Father" (Saying 3). These goals are presented in the image of "entering the Kingdom" by the methodology of insight that goes beyond duality. (Saying 22). The Gospel of Thomas shows little or no concern for orthodox religious concepts and doctrines. Scholars have traditionally understood the Gospel of Thomas as a Gnostic text because it was found amongst other gnostic texts, it was understood as being prone to a Gnostic interpretation by the early Church, and the emphasis on knowledge as the key to salvation, particularly in Saying 1. However this view has recently come under some criticism by suggesting that while it is possible to interpret the text in a way that aligns with Gnosticism there is nothing inherently Gnostic about the text itself. The Gospel of Thomas emphasizes direct and unmediated experience. In Thomas saying 108, Jesus says, "Whoever drinks from my mouth will become as I am; I myself shall become that person, and the hidden things will be revealed to him." Furthermore, salvation is personal and found through spiritual (psychological) introspection. In Thomas saying 70, Jesus says, "If you bring forth what is within you, what you have will save you. If you do not bring it forth, what you do not have within you will kill you." As such, this form of salvation is idiosyncratic and without literal explanation unless read from a psychological perspective related to Self vs. ego. In Thomas saying 3, Jesus says, ...the Kingdom of God is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living Father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty, and it is you who are that poverty. In the other four gospels, Jesus is frequently called upon to explain the meanings of parables or the correct procedure for prayer. In Thomas saying 6, his disciples ask him, "Do you want us to fast? How should we pray? Should we give alms? What diet should we observe?" For reasons unknown, Jesus' answer is found in saying 14, wherein he advises against fasting, praying, and the giving of alms (all contrary to Christian practice of the time), although he does take a position similar to that in Mark 7: 18–19 and Matthew 15:11 that what goes into the mouth will not defile a person, but what comes out of the mouth will. This is just one example in Thomas in which the hearer's attention is directed away from objectified judgements of the world to knowing oneself in direct and straighforward manner, which is sometimes called being "as a child" or "a little one" through the unification of dualistic thinking and modes of objectification. (For example, Sayings 22 and 37) To portray the breaking down of the dualistic perspective Jesus uses the image of fire which consumes all. (See Sayings 10 and 82). The teaching of salvation (i.e., entering the Kingdom of Heaven) that is found in The Gospel of Thomas is neither that of "works" nor of "grace" as the dichotomy is found in the canonical gospels, but what might be called a third way, that of insight. The overriding concern of The Gospel of Thomas is to find the light within in order to be a light unto the world. (See for example, Sayings 24, 26) In contrast to the Gospel of John, where Jesus is likened to a (divine and beloved) Lord as in ruler, the Thomas gospel portrays Jesus as more the ubiquitous vehicle of spiritual inspiration and enlightenment, as in saying 77: I am the light that shines over all things. I am everything. From me all came forth, and to me all return. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift a stone, and you will find me there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gospel_of_Thomas The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. During the days when you ate what is dead, you made it come alive. When you are in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?" answered 08 Dec '11, 01:03 white tiger well paulina you see the difference between just cleaning the storage and fixing problem. if you just clean the storage the problem is still there. but if you understand the meaning of the problem it is not a problem for you anny more you have solve it. so to empty the mind is only a temporary fix. to solve the problem in the mind is a permanent fix.

Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."

hi.. i would rather suggest, one should meditate equivalent to its age..that means..if you are 50 years of age ,you should meditate 50 minutes a day. i have learnt this from my meditation group. meditation has many many benefits. it is a cure for all. the bonus points is it raises our intuition. and as you raise your meditation timing and as you go in meditative states daily and as you get habitual to it. you will eventually learn lot many things about you. cos its all about you..."spiritual journey is journey within..!!! " love, light n blessings to you... supergirl ;)) answered 09 Feb '14, 12:21 supergirl |

really good question i think should be shared for all new visotors/users. Good one Satori
Thank you Nikulas:)
quality is better then quantity. but the more experience you can have in quality. is the unity of the 2 extremes. do not rush after quantity, experience a quality, once you are done with it move to the next experience of quality. doing it that way you will unite the 2 extremes.
there will come a time Satori when you will be able to meditate as you live. you will be able to reflect the inner with the outward. you could call that living in the moment. then it will be on a daily basis and will not be as hard to do. you will be at peace with your self and with other. like a calm lake that the moon and sun light reflect on.
@Satori changing habits take between 21 and 30 days of conscious effort, then the subconscious will accept the new habit. My wife and I meditate every morning. We stay awake, but detached. Do something the first time and it can be difficult, do it enough times and it does you. Then the quality can come through. Meditation allows you to allow.
@Dollar Bill-I agree, repetition creates internalisation.A great way to start the day to, thanks:)
if i say this to you:you should strive to enter the narrow gate.do you need to meditate?it is your choice after all.but i will say this once born of water and spirit with a pure heart, you do not need to meditate has often.it is like a men climbing a montain to learn the truth once he reach the top of the mountain he know the truth that he was there before coming down of the mountain and he can make is choice. to go back down to experience the field or to stay on top of the mountain.
@Dollar Bill - "Meditation allows you to allow." That is it in a nutshell. All is well, you just have to let it in. :)
