I know that being lighthearted and enjoying life is a great way to live and seems to work in harmony with universal law.

Despite this I am catching myself taking things too seriously sometimes. I want to lighten up on life more without trying too hard.

Does anyone else have this problem and  what do you do to lighten up? :)

Thanks for reading:)

When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."

  1. Jesus said, "If they say to you, 'Where have you come from?' say to them, 'We have come from the light, from the place where the light came into being by itself, established [itself], and appeared in their image.'The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. During the days when you ate what is dead, you made it come alive.

The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. During the days when you ate what is dead, you made it come alive. When you are in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one, you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?"

Nice question, and as Bashar would say, "If you really want enlightenment then JUST.LIGHTEN.UP!" Cory has explained the 'how' to this perfectly- there's nothing more to it. All the best Satori :)

Yes, I find myself taking things too seriously at times as well. It can be a hard habit (or choice of definition as Bashar would say) and may take some real true awareness on your part to change.

On a positive note though, just noticing that you are taking things a little too serious is a step in the right direction. A lot of people don't even have the conscious awareness that they are even doing it. Life goes on and never changes much for them because of this, so give yourself a little pat on the back for the simple awareness of this dilemma.

The ego can sometimes turn the autopilot back on when our now moment awareness fades away. I try to keep it simple when I catch myself taking things a little too serious.

Just stop for a moment and get back into the Now. Once you realize what you are doing, saying, or how you are reacting to a certain situation, just get yourself focused on the now. Even if you have to say to yourself "I need to get into the now moment."

It can be almost like flipping a light switch on and off. It's the same as having a bad habit and doing it over and over again, but here you are sending the signal that disrupts the bad circuit for even a split second to replace it with a new fuse of positive input.

Once you get to that neutral point of awareness, just start telling yourself things that feel better to you. For me it can be simple as saying " there is no reason to take this petty thing so seriously because feeling bad or upset does me no good whatsoever, no matter how much my ego wants to justify it."

It all comes down to how we think after the initial reaction to whatever we are taking too seriously. It's similar to the stop, drop, and roll they teach you in elementary school.

  1. You hear something that makes you feel bad or doesn't agree with your beliefs...Stop.

  2. You become aware of your now moment and get rid of those negative thoughts patterns...Drop.

  3. You find a thought that makes you feel better and tell yourself that getting upset over this insignificant petty situation is doing nothing to better your life. You then let others be who they are, and you become who you want to be and go with the flow...Roll.

Just the simple act of becoming aware in the moment and changing negative self talk habits into positive self talk habits has worked quite well for me. It does take consistent practice, but isn't that the case with anything you decide you want to improve in your life.

This is an exert from my book I did with my source Treb that really helps you understand why it is vital to stay light.

Exert From Benevolent Hybrid Reptilian Human

Introduction chapter:

pg. 52

Jefferson: Can you speak on the subject of how “relaxing” about a particular idea (whatever subject we focus upon), can help us remain focused, understand it better to inform ourselves appropriately so we can - as a result -, chose a responsible attitude towards life (whatever way it challenges us)?

Treb: Uh.... Yes.... The idea of being relaxed in every aspect of your lives is very important, but when we speak of these subjects of the ancient reptilians, or issues that cause fear in most, the idea to relax is even more important. It is important because it is mandatory that you understand the workings of the non-physical existence and how this feeds into the physical existence. First of all you have to see, that the non-physical existence is made of positive AND negative. It is not bad it is not good. These are labels that humanity has put on these things. It is a label that some races tend to put on these things. It is not that it is positive or negative, it is both a different idea, a different way, a different evolution, a different communication... perspectives of these things. Both of these things are coming from the same ideas! We understand this because in the negative density or the negative entities' eyes, it is not negative at all. They are doing what they do because they believe it is the right thing to do. And as a positive, as you might see this, you see this as positive because it is something you enjoy to do as well. Growing is evolution in both ways. It is very important because the non-physical has negative and positive inside it. So, it is important so that they both play out their own roles. In existence, there must be this balance, of positive and negative. Once we understand this, we can move forward. We have to see that all of these thoughts that we have, when relaxing, when understanding the way reality is built through the physical and non-physical existences, this is just a part of what is supposed to be. There’s no bad or good! There is no positive or negative. It is different sides of the same coin as you might say. So it is important not to put your focus into the negativity. If I speak of the ancient reptilians and things that they do to manipulate... if you are not relaxed in this, or enjoying the conversation just to receive information, it tends to spark up fear. And when you produce fear, you are giving the negative entity what it wants. The idea that they intentionally try to create fear, is for a reason. Just as we manifest our own positivity into food to ingest in our density, it is not a way to give our body nutrition. It is a symbolism that positivity must enter our body at all times. And in the negative entity, it is the same thing; when they create fear, or imbalance among other entities, this is what gives them their ability (to sustain). It is not necessarily because they think that they are doing negative, it is because this is the part of reality that they exist on. This is the part of creation that they must fill. So I would say the best way to relax is to not see things in the positive or negative way. It is to see them in different parts of reality that you must fill to play your part. Because in all reality and all actuality, once the negative entity is done with its physical existence, and once the positive entity is done with its physical existence, we all tend to go back into what you call the non-physical existence, which is negative and positive combined. So when this happens, we are all on the same journey. The soul of a negative entity must have all of the things (experiences) it has, so that it may fulfill its reality, as does the positive. So relaxing helps us understand, giving us the idea of calmness, helps us understand, that there is no true negative, no true positive! It just is! It is just existence. And in seeing this, you understand that there is no true difference in reality, but the preference that you prefer. So if one will think that your preference is negative, it is only because they come from a different point of view. So do not worry! These things are not to be worried about. If your highest vibration is in fear, than what you are doing it adding (creative power) to the things that you do not want. So when you add onto to fear, you are creating the reality of a negative entity, and unless this is what you are trying to do, than you are defeating your own purpose.

Jefferson: I agree with the existence of neutrality within these terms we guide our emotions with; I too believe that people would be much better off by allowing themselves to let go of judgment, to enjoy the diversity of life existing throughout the universe while they allow every single race to be where they are so they too can enjoy the place and time they exist, right? Isn't the midway the best way Treb?

Treb: Yes. It is as I said, even “negative” density entities (as you perceive it), enjoy what they are doing. This is why they do this. It is about not placing judgment. It is the same as religions you have in your planet, different ideals, different organizations, while they all tend to point to each other and say one is wrong and the other is correct. This is an outdated idea and an outdated way of thinking and your mankind is starting to see this! (Everybody is growing slowly to realize the truth about the multiple ways Creation can express itself). The reality is what you prefer it to be; so if you create your own reality, then in turn, what you are doing is creating your own point of view. From the ground... Up! And this is what we want all entities to do: to look inside, to see what is best for you in your heart, in your life, and live in your highest joy and vibration! Whether one sees this as positive or negative, it is not for them to decide (about others). It is for you to decide (about you).

hope it helped

love n light

I must admit I lack the mental capacity right now to actually read this in its entirety. I was able to grab sentences from here and there as they "called out to me" so to speak, such as "It is the same as religions you have in your planet, different ideals, different organizations, while they all tend to point to each other and say one is wrong and the other is correct. This is an outdated idea and an outdated way of thinking and your mankind is starting to see this!" Very very interesting. I need to rest up a bit and come back and give this another read, I think I will like what I find. ^_^

@TReb Bor yit NE - Rob, I hadn't read this til now - it is really resonating with me. I've always tried to lighten up, because people told me I should, so there was something wrong with me, and the way that I think. It never struck me until just now, that the real reason to lighten up isn't because of the observer (me), but because off what is being observed! That because there is nothing intrinsically bad or good about anything, it's only true effect on me is the one I assign to it. Thanks!

Judgement I find is a root cause of being weighted down. we tend to judge things and situations thus adding weight to them. A persons says something and you take a stance/pass judgement on that persons statement. you're right ,you're wrong You see something or a person and you pass judgement on that too.
Many have talked about not passing judgement

Matt. 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged."
Søren Kierkegaard:"Once you label me, you negate me”
Eckhart Tolle: “The moment that judgement stops through acceptance of what it is, you are free of the mind. You have made room for love, for joy, for peace.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti: “The highest form of human intelligence is to observe yourself without judgement.”

Try not pass judgement .Just be. I know that this is easier said than done, but with persistence it does becomes a habit and you do find yourself Lighter

Excellent answer Ursixx.totally agree with you here, this is definitely a part of my problem.thanks for pointing this out:)

(24 Dec '11, 18:07) Satori

I point that I disagree on here. The Bible NEVER says "DO NOT JUDGE." This is not a rule, this is not a law. You are leaving out the second part of the verses. It does however say that whatever measure you use to judge those around you, surely you will also be judged by the same measure. And so if you are judging those around you unfairly, you better be damn ready to be unfairly judged yourself. This is the meaning that these versus hold in my heart, at least. :)

(24 Dec '11, 20:13) Snow

Matthew 7:1 New International Version (NIV) 1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. King James Version (KJV) 1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

For those looking for the "short version", read ONLY the areas highlighted with darkened backgrounds. The rest is personal stories intended for relatability purposes only for those who are interested.

I believe I may be able to help with this one! Not only because I am a particularly carefree and positive person, but because I once lost this side of myself and I remember the steps I had to take to "find my way back" so to speak.

An excellent book I was "required" to read as part of a belt progression in a martial art I was studying: The Four Agreements, by don Miguel Ruiz. An amazing book that highlights some of the most effective methods of removing negativity that I've seen from ANY religion or spirituality, because of the language it uses to explain the methods.

[EDIT: To explain the previous sentence a bit more clearly: The idea behind these agreements is that you are 'breaking' countless negative agreements and replacing them with these positive agreements, which overwrite the negative ones that do not fit with them. "Reshaping"/"Reorganizing" your mind, if you will.]

Each of these agreements I feel addresses important points of being successful in manifestation. I cannot know if you are personally having issues with any of these agreements, (or breaking any limiting or negative agreements that interfere with them) but I can say that they helped me greatly at each step, so I hope that at least one will help you.

"Be Impeccable With Your Word.": This is the most difficult for most people in my opinion, especially us Americans, and I believe that it is the key to "knowing who we are" and preserving our "identity". In my experience those whom are compulsive liars (either to others or themselves) find the most benefit in focusing on this agreement.

To me this step demands an understanding of those around you, as the definition "of behavior, performance, or appearance) In accordance with the highest standards of propriety; faultless." does not imply that you always tell the truth, but it DOES imply that you know exactly what you are saying and why you are saying it.

"Don't Take Anything Personally.": In my opinion this agreement is the one that protects us from negativity from others. For those who are/were picked on, face bullies, or negative reinforcement from family members, this is the agreement I would focus on the most. (This is my "problem area", so to speak)

If we operate under the premise that any time someone commits an act that harms us it is because that is what they felt was right and they definitely had reasons for making that decision that likely had very little (if anything) to do with YOU. Most of the time you will find people who are filled with outwardly aimed negativity are only attacking those around them because they are also filled with inwardly aimed negativity.

If we don't care when someone attacks us or attempts to offend us, we have effectively stripped them of their power. I've been called just about every offensive word that applies to me over the course of my life.

Sometimes it was words like "gringo" or "dego / wop / etc". The former a spanish racial slurr aimed at whites (I was a minority at one of the high schools I attended. Not a very friendly environment, nor a safe one). The latter of course racial slurrs aimed at Italians, which never bothered me because I'm proud of my Italian heritage, not ashamed.

Other times it was even words that did not apply to me, like "faggot" or "nigger". Words intended to be offensive based on premises such as sexual orientation or the color of my skin. Despite being heterosexual (or perhaps BECAUSE I am straight) I have never cared when others insulted my sexuality, because I know what I am and have zero interest in "proving myself" to anyone.

As for the second word, that never bothered me because I have always immediately pitied anyone bigoted enough to believe that word holds any power towards any one unless they want it to, whether they were attempting to use it offensively or were allowing it to offend them.

As you can tell by the longer portion of writing here, this is by far the agreement that I had the most difficulty with personally. Perhaps because I was always picked on throughout my childhood for one reason or another, starting in about first grade and continuing up to the present day and probably for all of eternity. I came to terms with most forms of "verbal" or "mental" assaults from people trying to harm me, but "shutting myself in" like this made seeking POSITIVE relationships very difficult as well, an unforeseen consequence.

"Don't Make Assumptions.": Jumping to conclusions without first gathering the facts can often cause us to come to the wrong conclusions. I find this is the most useful for people who are 'arrogant', either in their body, mind, or spirit. In my opinion this is best for those who think they are "always right", or think that "their religion is the only path to God (despite Jesus being present in many of them, under the same name)". [This is my second largest problem area, for those interested]

"Always Do Your Best.": This one I personally feel is actually the most important of all, because it implies that you are never "trying" anything and only "doing" [the best you can at the time]. "Try" is often a negatively empowered word that is referenced as "doing with the intention of failing", and because of this logic path people use (NOT BECAUSE OF THE WORD) I encourage people to avoid it because it helps them address the mental concept from the appropriate direction.

This agreement is the foundation for those who have issues of feeling inadequate, confidence issues, insecurities, etc. Because one can never "fail", they should never be disappointed with their results. One can only "set their expectations a bit too high for the moment", but when they go back and "get back in the saddle" (so to speak) they will be able to set their goals to be more manageable, and will continue at each repeated attempt.

I do hope that if you decide these agreements are ones that are right for you and your life, and represent a manner in which you want to live your life, I hope they work as well for you as they have for me. Good luck in finding your answers, wherever the source may be. ^_^

An excellent answer, I like these four agreements! You are Italian too. I am on my father's side but you probably knew from my last name.

(23 Dec '11, 23:13) Wade Casaldi

Ahh. Yes, they are very good agreements from a very good book. I believe he represents himself as a student of an old tribe from Central America. Very inspired writing from him. And yes, very Italiano, my father is a pureblood. If you go back far enough I'm actually Italian royalty and also related to a particular Italian Saint who was very "liked" and "unliked" all at the same time. =P Unfortunately BOTH sides of my family once had great riches that they somehow managed to lose over the centuries (or longer in the Italian case). =P

(24 Dec '11, 00:22) Snow

And yes, one of the first things I noticed when I came to this site was your ethnicity, and that in your about me you referenced being a martial arts instructor. Two very intriguing concepts, because I rarely ever come across other Italians who are involved in any martial arts, and when they are they are usually extremely gifted. For example, my little cousin is a world class wrestler despite being on the later ends of being a minor. =P So I was very intrigued by your presence here, and subsequently anything you had to say about anything.

(24 Dec '11, 00:25) Snow

I think you more than most would find The Fifth Agreement to be particularly engaging, as well as a quote that he often used while teaching. "don't believe me, don't believe anyone else, don't believe yourself." And The Fifth Agreement as it is written: "5. Be Skeptical but Learn to Listen." ^_^ I believe this is a translation of a universal truth that was taught by Bruce Lee, which was the same quote that I LOVE to throw around in everything I say. ;)

(24 Dec '11, 00:52) Snow

Someone was just telling me about this book. I am interrested in reading it. Thanks for sharing. I too am part Italian from my dad's side. He never knew his birth father, so I never knew my Italian relatives. I used to fantasize that my Italian family would find me one day and I would be royalty and rich.

A good quote, and a great point that actually brings up another that interests me personally. One of my favorite Biblical quotes. "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord". It doesn't say be good at singing, in fact it quite says the opposite. You could even be so bad at it that you are only making "Noises" (as all forms of music are, and singing.) but the Bible still encourages you to do it. I find that very curious... There is a time for poetry, but I think there is also a time for music, a time for dance, a time for singing, and a time for laughter. ;)

What are you afraid of? When you find what you are afraid of, use EFT to tap on and eliminate unhealthy fears and limiting beliefs. Fears could include but are not limited to fear of: being rejected; being embarassed; impending doom; being alone; missing out on something; not having enough; being used by others; not being noticed; etc... In the Bible, it says to Fear not, it says that God is love. If you eliminate fear, what remains is Love. Love for yourself, for your neighbors, for your family, for your friends, for people you don't know, love for life, for nature, love in appreciating what you have. Fear is what disaligns us from God and love aligns us with God. In every situation we have have a choice to experience love or fear. Love is light and fear is darkness. Love and fear are the oposite ends of the vibrational scale. We fear what we don't understand. If we love God, and seek Love, our needs will be provided for. If we fear for tomorrow, we rob ourselves of today. And when that fear creeps up, you can use EFT to eliminate it. Prayer also works, but only if you combine it with faith or belief. Either way the only thing to fear is fear it's self, Love is all you need.

And laughter
