The Life of Jesus mystifies us, and, for some, inspires us. Look at these words from The Battle Hymn of the Republic:
Somehow, Democracy found its roots in His Life. He showed that all people matter, and that no man or woman is better than another-a very controversial idea for those times! Can we have a non-partisan discussion about the effect of Christ's life on civilization? What do you see as His influence on our history, and how do you see Him as an historical figure? Perhaps you see Him at the root of bloody wars...Perhaps you have no opinion at all! But I think we have to acknowledge that without Him, democracy would not have come when it did. I am asking here for perhaps a lot of our group- but we can do it! Christian, Muslim, non-religious, all- how has His life affected you- or has it? (You can at least count the calendar as one effect...) In Hope and Great Curiosity, Jaianniah asked 22 Jan '13, 02:15 Jaianniah

It isn't jesus Christ that is affecting humanity, it is the falseness that the churches have created that affects humanity. He does not affect history, only in the fact that there was nothing written about him at the time he was alive, only 100s of years later. answered 22 Jan '13, 04:38 Wazza 5
Not to mention, it's never the guy, but those who follow him that create religions. Which is absurd, for religions are often times in their nature ideologically the very opposite of the guy's teachings.

Democracy probably would have come Jai, in fact it did to a country thats very largely Muslim. Turkey was a TRUE democracy BEFORE the UK. Women, who after all make up a little more than 50% of humanity, had the vote there before women in the UK did. And on a recent visit i noticed a lot more mosques than churches. Perhaps the 4 th dimensional Christ, the one who exists NOW is the factor for this. Not the historical figure. M answered 22 Jan '13, 03:22 Monty Riviera |
This book examines Jesus the new testament gospels vs the old testament Isaiah. Much of what is commonly believed of Jesus comes from the Isaiah prophecies. But the real Jesus is found in the new testament gospels. He was far more powerful and respected than most realize. He changed worship forever, he said basically we don't need to make sacrifices to God for our sins anymore. He will stand in for us, he will represent us and take our punishment for us. Because God our father loves us that much to say I'll take the punishment for my children they do not know what they do. That is very powerful, but as well he gave us authority over everything, he restored the Genesis contract to us, that we have dominion over everything in Jesus name. These things bring us closer to God our father because they raise our vibration by cleansing us and connecting us. answered 22 Jan '13, 02:56 Wade Casaldi |
jesus effect history because he came from above and revealed the truth to people. and the people in power under the control of their own darkness killed him for no good reason. after they made a religion out of him, using some of is knowledge that they could understand and making a message that would suit their interest. the positive side of this is that some of is message survived in the bible and some of is message was buried and was dig up in 1945 the The Nag Hammadi Library http://gnosis.org/naghamm/gosthom.html so when you can understand both message it can give you a bigger part of what is the truth that he was teaching. and eventually people will be able to find the truth.the word is truth. on less you are so blessed to have a pure heart and to know where you come from and where you are going. you see men are rebellious they serve their own interest. many of them are in division for their self pride they have a heart of stone. they do evil to them self and other, and other in response do the same. blind that leads blinds.how will you ever escape eternal damnation? And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. blessed are the pure of heart they shall see God. Let there be light, be the light that you can be, experience and enjoy. answered 22 Jan '13, 20:29 white tiger |
Just reminded me of a song, is all. Everclear (songlyrics) Jesus Was A Democrat Jesus Christ didn't have blue eyes or blond hair He looked just like all those people that you want to kill Spin your hell into a heaven you can sell Make it look like California with a bible belt Jesus didn't look like the boy next door Unless you live in Palestine I wonder what you mean by the golden rule I think it is a scary play on words I wonder what they taught you back in Sunday school I bet you think of him As a nice clean long haired Republican, nah He would be all locked up in Guantanamo Bay If he were alive today He would have been a revolutionary Wanted by the CIA I picture him in all the wrong places Finding diamonds in the dirt A star of David tattoo And a Che t-shirt Jesus Christ was a left wing radical Jew Murdered by people like you If Jesus was a Democrat like the bible says he was I don't think he's going to want to take the blame For all the awful things you say and do in his name If Jesus was alive he would be sad to see That it is no different than it used to be Someday he's going to call you out I am pretty god damned sure ...... He is going to be angry He is going to be angry You want to know what I think?....... I think Jesus would have been a card carrying liberal If he was a young man born in the USA He would not be "fiscally conservative" And he wouldn't vote for John McCain All those so called Christians that you see on TV Maybe they scare Jesus like they scare me Kick you the hell out of my temple too Too many elephants in the room If Jesus was a Democrat like the bible says he was I don't think he's going to want to take the blame For all the awful things you people do and say in his name If Jesus was alive today he would be sad to see That it is no different than it used to be Someday he's going to call you out I am pretty god damned sure...... He is going to be....mad He is going to be angry He is going to be....mad He is going to be....mad You say Jesus loves the little children And I say I know that's true I say he loves all the Muslims and the Jews All the addicts and the porn stars too You say Jesus died to save us all from a fiery hell I say Jesus died to save us Save us from ourselves Will you save me from myself? If Jesus was a liberal like the red letters say he was I know he would have big love for all the killers and the racists And the bullies in this world If Jesus was alive today And you had a chance to meet him face to face I'm pretty God-damned sure that you and your friends Would find some way to kill him all over again You would kill him all over again Again and again and again Just like you always do You do just what you always do http://artists.letssingit.com/everclear-lyrics-jesus-was-a-democrat-pzgmjhj#axzz2IkvT0h00

answered 22 Jan '13, 20:04 ele It's 3 years later & this was my random pick of the day. 99% of the time these random picks have a 'message'. I started reading this answer & I didn't realize it was mine. I saw the word Everclear & I thought hmm ... rectified spirit. Alcohol was humor but rectified spirit along with the anger, judgment, righteousness in that song is extremely insightful & something I really need to reflect on. I hope other people take advantage of the random picks & find helpful Q & A as I normally do

Now, I usually look up the definition of words especially on international forums because when I first came here I accidentally offended blubird . The English language usually has more than one definition for any one word & Americans can be easily misunderstood. Then we also have the urban dictionary ;p

because we love stories that inflame the imagination
'Cause even after 2000 years, vast majority of people don't understand tao of life of which Jesus was speaking. And thus, almost everyone is left in an eternal wonder over his words and their meanings, much of which many have misinterpreted to fit their own perspectives. Thus all the division between the men.
And btw, democracy is another form of slavery. Not really what Jesus would praise.
I'm fairly sure if Jesus was alive today he would be a Democrat.
This is American joke - USA. Democrats vs Republicans
@CalonLan Jesus sure as hell would NOT have been a Republican.
(Google)
Democrat - An advocate or supporter of democracy. Democracy - government by the people; especially : rule of the majority.
So in other words a system where mob has control over individual life. Where majority of people make decisions based on a standard which agrees with individual standards of majority. But majority of people are retarded. They don't know and cannot control themselves, yet they attempt to know and control others. What a joke.
Jesus would support that? Talaga?
@ele, ah ok. You were talking about taking sides between those clowns in the US government circus.
Then ignore my post above.
@CalonLan Yes. Jai & Wade are from the US as am I. I thought they would like it. Sorry, should have explained or at least left a hint.
@Ele lol yes I got the joke. Actually in the Bible there is mention of the Republicans. But I believe they had a different idealism then ours today... I just thought you'd get a giggle from that. :-)
@Wade Casaldi Yes, it could have made for a lively debate. lol! Politics & Religion do not mix well; but late nite comedians are pretty funny. Not familiar with the republican biblical reference. Eye of the Needle & like references plus lots of good ol' common sense.
@ele after looking for Republicans in the Bible I found, "Publicans" in the Bible.
After looking it up a publican is a Jewish tax collector.
My mistake, sorry...
@Wade Casaldi Thanks! What you said makes sense cause I was familiar with this:“Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's” (Matthew 22:21). - meaning PAY YOUR TAXES. I found this: In fact, Matthew 22, records an instance where the Pharisees sought to trap Jesus by asking for his stance on a controversial Roman tax in the presence of a very pro-Roman political party, the Herodians. The specific tax in question was called the poll tax.
@Wade Casaldi This was a flat tax everyone living under Roman occupation paid. If you were alive and breathing on Roman soil, you paid this tax so that you could continue to enjoy that privilege. This wasn’t just a political issue—there were theological implications. The Jews anticipated the coming of their true king and the kingdom of God, but every time they paid the Roman tax they were acknowledging that everything, both life and breath, belonged to Caesar’s kingdom.
@Wade Casaldi Jesus asks to see the coin used to pay the tax and asks the Pharisees whose image and inscription is on it. They respond that it is Caesars—he created it and it bears his image and likeness. Jesus’ response is incredible. He tells them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's” (Matthew 22:21). Do you see the nuance in what Jesus is saying? Jesus is making an important distinction here that we need to be aware of.
@Wade Casaldi There are things that belong to Caesar and there are things that belong to God. The coin may be made in the image of Caesar, but people are made in the image of God. He tells them to honor civil government and government authorities and give their share in taxes—but not to give their allegiance.
