That is the big question that humans have asked themselves throughout history. You might say that people are literally "dying" to learn the answer. The good news is that, sooner or later, we are all destined to find out exactly what happens. Until that time, we can only speculate on the subject based on personal experiences (such as near death experiences) and information gathered from whatever sources we personally consider valid and credible. (Religion, science, channeled etc.) Regardless of where the information comes from, it will be unique to each individual. That is how our opinions, beliefs, and assumptions are formed. That being said, I can only offer you my personal opinion on the subject based on what I have learned over the years that I have spent exploring this question. I will endeavor to answer your question in the briefest way I can, at this particular moment in time.

Consciousness is energy. All energy is conscious. The degree of consciousness varies in terms of what can be described as "personality". We (I, you, me) are, "Energy Essence Personalities". * We can be created. We cannot be destroyed. That "part" of the self you refer to when you speak the words "I AM", is the consciousness that you are pondering in your question. It is all that you are, all that you have been, and all that you will become. It is the unique expression of "All That Is"* that is you.

Your body will eventually die and with it the landscapes of perception that the physical mind creates through the functioning of the brain and its input sensory organs. The conscious "you", however, will continue as you always have and always will, regardless of whatever form you choose to take, be it physical or non-physical.

Knowing that you have a never-ending existence and therefore much to explore can be quite overwhelming to the physical mind at times! I hope this helps you on your journey of discovery. well if you mean what happens to consciousness when your physical body die. is the question that you are asking. what if I told you that soul = mind and heart. the spirit that you are as a soul. what happens to a new born in a new world? or to one that wake up in a new world? he marvels at the new environment and new things that he experience.

you see many time people will judge other with out having take a walk in their shoe. those people often do not even know them self how do you want them to know other? if they would know them self they would stop to do what they would hate being done to them? so they will need to know them self. and they will need to be able to walk in someone else shoe. if not they are doing bad to other that will be done back to them creating living hell for them self. in this world some know that they do bad to other but they do not care or they say to themselves no one will know or notice. there for I say to you do not lie and do not do what you hate.
