That voice, I'm not so sure it is only a voice. I think maybe different people experience it different ways, some hear an audio voice but others may have a feeling, or a vision, still others have a knowing.

For myself lately this has been coming as a "knowing" with my karate. After thirty-some years of experience in karate, new knowledge is now just opening up to me about my karate. I just seem to "know" new things that are revealed about my karate that makes it far more devastatingly powerful than it has ever been. Things have really been opening up about new ways to use what I have known for many years, but never thought of using differently than I had previously learned to do.

If I had to say what that voice is, I'd have to say that it is an inner guidance that comes from being in tune with the Source of that knowledge. This is like tuning a radio into different stations. The frequency of the length of coil corresponds to the frequency of the signal in the ether of existence.

I believe this is the same for the mind. We may tune into the mind of God at any frequency and get understanding from that level. So this still, small voice is like listening for what you happen to tune into. You may find what is useful there, but if you are depressed, that voice will be tuned into something not useful, something that would make you feel worse. But you now take that to higher thought and you tune into something higher. I'm reminded of Saint Bernadette: her mind was in awe and reverence when she saw the Lady of Fatima. She was tuned right into her vision of Mary. The others couldn't see her Vision of Mary because they were not tuned into that frequency. They were very close to Bernadette, and still did not see her; this is the same for radio: close could be the difference between tuning into the news or rock and roll. Orange, although close to Red in the color spectrum, is not Red; therefore, you can not see red if you are in the orange spectrum. Close means only that you are getting there, not that you are there, otherwise it wouldn't be called close.

I remember from my studies in the mystery schools how when people believed in many Gods, those that had understanding saw each as a quality to be tuned into. For strength you identified with Hercules, for valor in war you identified with Mars etc...

These are simple tools for frequency tuning- it is much like the numbers on the radio dial which provide a point of reference to turn towards each time when needed. We can do this today even with comic book characters; no, they aren't real beings, but representations of qualities of frequencies. I remember Joe Vitale said he does something he calls "modeling after someone". He said you pick a famous person you like, maybe someone with everything that you want to have and be. You then imagine you are that person and try really getting into the mindset of that person. This will affect you and change you; again, this is tuning. So you are in these examples tuning into what knowledge you want, you are choosing what frequency that still, small voice comes from.

In conclusion, you are being a active participant in what knowledge comes instead of passively receiving something you do not want for yourself based on where you are in frequency at the time.

One last example: have you ever noticed how bad things intensify with fear- that the more you fear the more bad things happen? As an example, when you watch movies, when you see that the more the characters fear, the worst things they experience. They are tuning into more and more into darkness because of their fear. Jesus said, "Get thee behind me Satan." He refused the darkness. He did not experience evil like others, because he was at a much higher frequency than they, and thus could easily rid darkness from people. He was not in a frequency of fear.
