Hey everyone! I’m having difficulties with Part 18. I’m not quite sure how to go about the exercise on this one. Does anyone have insight that might be helpful? Thank you so much.

I’m going to share what I found online below but would love to hear if more people in InwardQuest have more value to add

Point 1 The exercise in part 18 requires you to CONCENTRATE upon your POWER to create: now, if you have been studying the previous parts diligently, you would understand that CONSCIOUSNESS itself is POWER; what the exercise in part 18 requires is that You THINK on that with the exclusion of every other thing; let your mind be established in truth that CONSCIOUSNESS is POWER, and insight and perception begins to follow. Remember that THOUGHT is MIND in motion; THOUGHT by itself is CREATIVE.

Point 2 Just by being, you've been creating all along. Now, with the help of the MKS, you're bringing intent and attention and awareness into the equation. The result is that you create consciously. You know what you're creating. And in chapter 18 you learn to think on the level of the absolute. Everything else is excluded. That takes time and effort, but it's well worth it. It's not easy, because the conscious mind thrives on differences, whereas here your thinking has to be absolute.

The exercise in Part 18 is about focusing entirely on the idea that consciousness is power.

Now what does that mean? It means recognizing that your awareness, your ability to think and focus, is the creative force behind everything in your life.

The challenge here is to hold this thought with absolute clarity, excluding all other distractions. It’s not about forcing it but gently allowing your mind to settle into this truth.

Here’s how you might approach it:

  • Start by quieting your mind. Meditation can help here, just a few minutes of deep breathing to calm the mental chatter
  • Then, bring your attention to the idea that your consciousness is the source of all creation

You might repeat a phrase like “My consciousness is power” or visualize your thoughts as energy shaping your reality. The key is to stay with this idea, even when your mind tries to wander. And it will wander - that’s normal. Just bring it back gently each time.

The second point you shared is also important. This exercise is about moving beyond the relative, everyday thinking of contrasts and differences, and stepping into the absolute.

It’s about recognizing that your consciousness isn’t just a part of creation, it is creation. It’s a shift from thinking about what you’re creating to understanding that you are the creator itself.

That’s a big leap, and it might take time to fully grasp, but that’s okay. The effort is worth it.

If you’re struggling, try shorter sessions at first, just a few minutes of focused thought and gradually build up your ability to sustain this focus. It’s like training a muscle.

Over time, you’ll find it easier to hold this singular focus, and you’ll likely notice a deeper sense of clarity and empowerment as a result.

And remember, this isn’t about getting it perfect. It’s about practice and persistence. Each time you return to this exercise, you’re strengthening your ability to create consciously. That’s the real power here.
