I have a light within.

I see it when I close my eyes. Not always, but I seem to be able to "call it" when it's not there. It is not the afterglows of the retina, although i see those colourful patterns too of course. But what I mean is a different quality. It is white and it's rotating, quite similar to the light of a lighthouse.

I've been seeing it for almost ten years. Back then I really had a very deep mystical experience. I was pulled out of my body and I was flying to an overwhelming light corona which I understand is somehow the source of souls, where we are all coming from, or at least an outpost of it. ;-)

It strangely lifted me out of all the pain I had back then, it just was taken from me and I could leave it behind like meaningless dead ashes. It was an intense experience and a proof for me that we are indeed more than just bodies.

I put this question here because I would love to learn about similar experiences that you might have had. And also I'd like to know how to properly call those things so that I could do some more research. ;-)

I can't answer all of your questions, but here's my take on your experience. The eyes have sometimes been referred to as the lamp of the body. Where the eyes are "good" in the sense that one's focus and attention are on that which is "good", then the body is full of light. The significance of seeing the light with your eyes closed, seems to me to be that you are being directed inward to seek the "good." It would be consistent with the positive, mystical, out-of-body experience you had which left you with a very positive, good experience to inspire you to pursue your spiritual development. The light, I believe, is a beckoning to you to take your quest inward, to find the growing points you need to focus on at this point in your life.

I had a dream when I was a child which was before I had ever heard of near-death experiences, but upon hearing of these experiences later in life, I recognized that my dream was just like those who spoke of leaving their body and traveling toward a light. The light I arrived at in my dream was in a room where I found my grandfather and other loved ones who had died. I felt warmth, love and acceptance there, but decided I wanted to go home. From my room, I watched the light recede in the distance away from me. In a subsequent poem about the dream, I wrote that I wished I could have "abandoned my fear, so to stay [with the light and loved ones]."

The light represented peace, love and fellowship. Conversely, my fear is what kept me from remaining in that state. Overcoming fear is a challenge I must work on from time to time to recover a fuller experience of peace, love and fellowship in the here and now.

I mention this to point out that the light is intended to be a beacon to draw us toward it. You already pointed out that yours was "the source of souls." It would seem that you are being drawn/called into a deeper experience of the wisdom and knowledge available from the source of souls that you will find by turning inward toward that light within.

I practice something called a Firebreath before my morning meditation. It involves a repitition of sharp nostril breaths and contraction of a groin muscle. One of the things that I experience on a regular basis is an intense fog of white Light rushing towards me. At times I get very wobbly and feel like Im about to pass out(thats happened twice)most times it receeds but on two occasions I have pushed through it only to find my self in a very large room made of very large smooth rectangular stone. It has no ceiling just space,no one else there just me.This maybe lasts 4 or 5 seconds then im here again.I dont where I was but it feels so Right.I see Light in a couple of different ways and I dont know why but I am really glad I do.I am very Grateful for all my experiences with IT and have really stopped trying to analyze them and see the true beauty in that moment that I am privileged to witness.

yes that is to much light to handle in the flesh. that is why the flesh is like going to pass out or burn out. but if you are not meditating. and you see it come from outside of you it is some of your brother of light coming to give you some gift. thats is how i see it. it is like a light that is every where all at once. in you and around you. similar to the description in the bible. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

the light is similar as in the video of supernatural season 5 when God take dean and sam out of lucifer reach.

I think it is good that you can see the light immediately when you close your eyes. I personally can feel the white light coming sometimes, but I am always too afraid to continue and always open my eyes immediately when I feel it coming..

I first experiences this white light phenomenon when I was only 14years old. There was a 'creative learning' course which taught you the skills to remember certain things more easily, such as anchoring, etc. During the course, the instructors asked us to do a certain exercise..he asked us all to close our eyes, and he would vividly described many many scenarios and asked us to imagine according to what he has described. He claimed that a lot of people who had tried it before found themselves to be in a place(maybe different dimensons) which they greatly enjoyed, and although it seemed like they have spent 1hour over there it was actually only 5-10minutes of actual time.

I at first was keen to give it a try, but after 2-3minutes, I suddenly felt that a huge flash of white light was going to rush at me straight into my face from the pitch black darkness I felt when I closed my eyes, and being scared, I immediately opened my eyes right away and did not dare to contiue anymore. At that point of time I still could not understand why, but now I do, and I still get this phenomenon when I listen to certain subliminal audios or through vivid imagination, but I am still always afraid to continue and open my eyes right away.

I hope that one day I will be able to conquer this fear and able to bring myself into that different place..

that light is you meditate and learn more.

(18 Jul '12, 23:35) white tiger

when you meditate you go in your self. and who is in your self? is it not you? is it not all your though and emotion in your self? why fear your self? are you afraid of anny part of your flesh? then why be afraid of your spirit? what you are seing on the water is your own reflection. that light is you.

(20 Jul '12, 20:22) white tiger

the light within is not a physical phenom. it is the soul 's energy that is hopefully growing in intensity w/ spiritual practices that result in the attainment of wisdom, compassion, and the enlightenment of christ consciousness

i am the way the truth and the life. it add alot more meaning then people with out eyes to see and hear to ear have understood. experience and enjoy.

(25 Jul '12, 22:44) white tiger

My jaw dropped when I saw this description. I see this rotating white light when I close my eyes, I have for many years - as long as I can remember. It sort of spirals in front of my eyes, like the intro on The Twilight Zone, only with a light, as mentioned, like a lighthouse.

I can't trace it back to any specific experience, though, and it is not at all scary. If I consentrate very hard on it, I seem to see tiny, super-defined figures and scenes in it.... just like if you look through the wrong end of a telescope or binoculars.

I have never heard of another person who sees this; anyone I've tried to describe it to just looks at me blankly - no idea what I'm talking about.

The answers here don't really seem to apply to me. Does anyone know what this is?

yes the reflection of your light on the water of the mind. your spirit will guide you and show you all kind of truth over duality. by this process you have no unsolved things in you. once born of water your flesh and spirit are not in conflict anny more.

(24 Jul '12, 16:36) white tiger

those tiny super defined figure you refer to are the spirit communication. the spirit will show you stuff unsolved in you that still bother you and will tell you all that you need to know in truth.

(24 Jul '12, 16:46) white tiger

@white tiger - Thank you so much. Can you give me any advice as to how to see what is there? I haven't been able to figure out what I'm looking at.

(24 Jul '12, 17:36) Grace

i will try to give you a short explanation. it is like if you would look at your self in a pond of water. that light is you (the spirit) in the inside. people usely pass most of their time looking out side (the flesh). that is why people usely do not notice this. you just have to medite sit some where comfortable where you can have peace. fix a spot in front of you that is not there. that is your focus point, that will help you staying aware. of what is going on. then you stay like this until

(24 Jul '12, 18:14) white tiger

you see that light come in your point of focus. if you do not yet see what it wants to show you just slowly concentrate and focus more. eventually you will see all what is in conflict in you. even stuff that you are not aware of or decided to forget or ignore at some point. you will see how your though are united with your feeling. you can learn until duality does not exist anny more. then the pond is calm no more conflict. if you woundered what jesus and boudha did for 40 days now you know.

(24 Jul '12, 18:21) white tiger

born of water. next comes born of the spirit. tell me when you get there.

@White Tiger - Thank you so much, I will do what you said. I really appreciate your advice.

(25 Jul '12, 11:36) Grace

@White Tiger, I did as you suggested, but it came out very different than it used to. I tried to call the white light, but instead saw zig zaging blue and grey streaks, and sort of passed out and almost dreamed (can't describe it well) that a very sweet and wise old lady had come to visit me. She stayed and talked to me a long while, and as I was showing her out, I asked if I could have one favor, it would be that she come back again soon. She smiled at me and hugged me and then held...

(26 Jul '12, 20:15) Grace

...my brow to hers and said if she didn't come see me here, she would see me next time. I have no idea what she meant, but she obvioulsy loved me and approved of me very much. Then she sort of pushed me, and I floated. I found that I wasn't sleeping, I could control and enjoy where and how I was floating. I had the presence of mind to enjoy it while it lasted. It went on until the phone rang and snapped me out of it.

(26 Jul '12, 20:35) Grace

depending on what the light is telling you the color and shape change.but you will need more practice it took me 2 month to make the water calm and i was a little child at that time with no outside information about this except having seen jesus and spook doing meditation on tv. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6eTbhHE0jM . and it took jesus and budha 40 days. the real devil is the darkness in you. the flesh and spirit needs to become one by being born of water. all is writen in the bible.

(26 Jul '12, 20:50) white tiger

but one needs to have eyes to see and ears to ear. the lenght of time of the meditation to being born of water depends on how much darkness you have accumulated in you those are all those unsolved things that makes you have a conflict(duality) between the flesh and the spirit. also the dedication you will put in meditating will also determine the time it takes. tips: stay aware using your focus point. do not rush it is not a race. do not worry about the flesh it can take care of it self.

(26 Jul '12, 20:58) white tiger

(you do not think to breath or to make your heart beat and when you sleep the body take care of it self.) have faith stay in truth with a pure heart.

(26 Jul '12, 21:09) white tiger

@White Tiger, thank you again. I will keep at this.
