I felt a slight itch on my face as I was writing this answer. I scratched it 3 times.

I just looked out of the window and saw a few trees, probably about 5 or 6, I think

...or perhaps it's just like any other day and it's our own intent in giving arbitrary meaning to the number-based coincidence that makes it different to any other.

Yes, I do believe there are calendar-based cycles (which I've written about previously in Why is Christmas so popular?) but they are based on underlying natural cycles. I don't see how arbitrary number line-ups on a much manipulated human-made calendar system have cosmic significance beyond what we give it.

Also, it's not 11-11-11 in many other calendars.

If 11/11/2011 is a special day, I believe that the same question will appear the next year:

Is 12/12/2012 a special day?

That would mean that we already have passed by a lot of "special days" in the past, such as 01/01/01, 02/02/02, 03/03/03, 04/04/04, 05/05/05, 06/06/06, 07/07/07, 08/08/08, 09/09/09, 10/10/10....

Nothing seemed to have happened much on these "special" days in the previous years though.. I believe 10 occurences are more than enough for anyone to spot something special if anything has really happened!

Whether it does or not, many people believe it to be a day of peace, so they will choose to feel and send out peace. Therefore, I believe that it will be a great day!

If we believe that it is a special day and better ourselves and do good for humanities sake than I say it is a good day. It goes acording to peoples beliefs and how they feel about this.

It is in fact a day like any other and it might rain, or snow or the sun might shine but that there is a change in the world we live in and that something is happening and people all over the world are feeling it there is no doubt about. Weather it is to do with the energies of 11-11-11 or biblical prophecies coming to pass is debateable and in this case I will be on the side of White Tiger for I know exactly what he will say.

I feel it being special since today, all over the world, large groups of people, for example in Argentina it was reported that near 2000 people all together united to meditate and do special meditations in specific hours all day, throughout the day, with webcasts, and also in coordinaton with an equal large group in Spain, also smaller groups through out the world. If anyone has seen "What the bleep do we know?", meditation with specific intention, can do wonders for the energy of the planet earth, this people's intention was peace, and geting aligned with the cosmic portal that leads everyone experiencing a spiritual akakening (more and more people throughout the world each day) towards the 5th dimension. I believe that most things if not all happen according to the intention and faith you put in something working or happening, or as some people and myself say.. manifesting. So I believe that there was some positive energy going around, this people took time of there daily life to meditate with good intentions for the planet we all live in and I thank them. This is of course the way I decide to experience it. For me, having had a severe spiritual awakening for the past 3 months, yesterday I did feel my chakras pressed and tingle a lot more, and the auras around people where a lot brighter, I did feel a sense of oneness, and a lot more in contact with other humans. I did meditate exactly at 11:11, and tried to feel the energy flowing around in the world, and made a wish after I was done, since I was little it was a folk tale where I grew up that if you saw your clock at 11:11 for some reason you made a wish, so I took myself back to that time and celebrated the "coincidence" from the folk take to the importance some people where giving to this day by doing so. it seams so blubird. and some people are using that to install fear and judge other and they use their little book and their scripture in allah name. the same way they judge they will be judge.

As I said in a previous post, I believe that number 1 is a Phallic symbol as Jung or Freud might say... It's the male energy, but this energy could turn into aggressiveness sometimes... So, 11/11/11 11:11 is a series of numbers 1, that is the Male energy in the maximum dose!

This day could be a day for Insemination or a day for Aggressiveness. A day of Creation or a day of Destruction. It depends on Us!

Well the day 11/11/11 was here and now it is gone, to me 11/11/11 was just Friday, just as today 11/12/11 is just Saturday. I noticed nothing special about yesterday myself.
