Does having a budget (so that you don't overspend) really make you more secure financially? Or does it just demonstrate lack, and therefore attract more lack? asked 15 Mar '10, 01:15 Vesuvius |
Isn't this really the same question as Does studying martial arts really make you safer? And I would just refer you to the answer I gave there with financial terms in the answer instead of martial arts references. :) I would say that this is really part of a family of questions of the type... Does <doing this action> really lead to <this outcome>? My answer would probably be the same for all of them. answered 15 Mar '10, 10:33 Stingray Finances are a little different. There is a very specific and measurable cause and effect mechanism at work here. Unless, of course, all such cause and effect systems (other than LOA) are illusory.

Not sure I agree that finances are different. You can make anything you want specific and measurable. You just ask yourself: Do I have what I want yet? :) If you want to get really measurable, you can start measuring the rate at which your vibrational matches are appearing regarding something you want...as you get closer to what you want, the rate of manifestation of the vibrational matches increases. You could plot a time-based graph, I guess. I've never been that bothered about this phenomenon to actually measure it in detail though my spreadsheet is geared up to do it

I think I would rather know what money I DO have, rather than just willy-nilly spend, spend, spend, and then blame my own lack of manifestation when I come up short! Having a budget is a form of discipline. It is natural to not want discipline over money, but how do you know what to ask for if you do not know exactly what you need in the first place??? I also believe that when we prove to God that we can handle the money we DO get, He will let us have control over more. I have found this to be true over and over. Having money is a privilege, not a right. It is a gift from God. It is a blessing when well-spent, and a curse when you have to worry about getting from one month to the next. I definitely feel that making a budget is a type of manifestation in the first place. You are seeing on paper what you are spending, and where, and where your money could be put to better use. Of course it doesn't. I'm not sure what you mean by "lack". Lack of what? Of money? Anyway, security is an illusion. You can measure security, you can attribute numbers to it, and since we attribute numbers to way too many things in our brains we confuse ourselves into believing that measurable things can bring security. But no statistics is 100% in reality, by its own definition. The only thing that brings true security is self-knowledge. Anything else is just fooling oneself. Sure, there are many ways to call it, but again, we're communicating in this flawed system we call language. answered 18 Mar '10, 19:54 Cawas |
