I received an advertising email the other day. The following paragraphs were part of it...
I thought that was quite an interesting demonstration of the power of the mind that anyone could try out for themselves and get an immediate result. Another 'mind power' demonstration that I have asked many others to try out over the years has been to ask them to look at someone else (it can be anyone) who is a little distance away and has their back turned to them. I tell them that it helps if the 'target' person is not really engaged in any particular activity...so, for example, the other person could be standing in a queue, sitting down somewhere relaxing, or just waiting for someone else. I ask them to concentrate on a small area at the back of that person's neck, and really focus as though a laser beam of energy is coming out of their eyes and is aimed directly at that person's neck area. Usually, within a short time, the 'target' person will grow restless and then turn around, and look directly at the person concentrating on them - and they will usually exchange a smile or friendly glance. It's quite an impressive demonstration to those who are skeptical that a person's mind can influence the world around them. So what is your own most impressive 'mind over matter' demonstration that anyone can try out for themselves? asked 20 Mar '10, 20:25 Stingray

You can make people walk or stop or sit or stand but those things are not right to do and it's more like making a dog do tricks. The most impressive I can think of that is quite easy is the energy wheel. I have one of these myself, you put your hands around it and concentrate on it moving clockwise or counter clockwise and it will. I also have a book that has one your can build from paper a pin and an eraser, you just fold the paper into a pyramid shape twice diagonal so there is an X in it and it will balance on the pin point if the paper is perfect square and perfect folded. It wont be as good as the bought one but it works. answered 20 Mar '10, 22:37 Wade Casaldi |
There is a story about a student who was advised by his guru to go out and learn mind power. Twenty years later the two met and the Guru asked the student "What have you learnt in these last twenty years?" The student replied "I have devoted the last 20 years in learning how to walk on water. I can now cross our river by walking across the water!" "The guru replies in an angry voice "Do you mean to tell me that you have spent 20 years learning how to cross the river by walking on the water, yet for only 50 cents you can get a ferry across!" The moral of the story is: What is the motive behind your effort in personal and spiritual development? answered 26 Sep '10, 21:46 Brian 2 |
A mind over matter technique that I think any one can try is simply to think 'I can do it' when your initial thought was 'I can't do that'. You will be amazed at the shift. As soon as you allow yourself to think, 'I can do it', whatever it may be, you will start to see and believe that you can, and then proceed to do it. The Universe knows you can already and will immedeately start to back you up. Have you ever tried to use your energy to charge a double a battery? You can do it. answered 21 Mar '10, 09:23 Brian |

@Stingray- Check out the Wim Hof Method. Most impressive thing I've seen that is also transferrable to person to person. Emersion in extreme ice cold temperatures, able to go without breathing for 3-5 minutes quickly, able to transmute cold temperatures.
