This question comes from Nikulas' Question about heroism. I got to thinking about it, and I believe that some of the most amazing people are on this site. We all write for nothing, except points, which mean little in the Grand Scheme of Things. We write and bare our souls. We help each other, and encourage each other. Yes. I believe there are many unsung heroes here. I have witnessed what I belive to be truely life-changing exchanges take place. I have personally experienced them. I just followed a rather amazing conversation recently, that left me in awe of one hero here. The thing is, you just never know who you may be talking to here. There may be a very confused, scared, upset, misguided or desparately sad soul hanging on your every word. It may even be someone you interact with regularly here, just having a particularly difficult time, or you may be touching on a very sensitive subject for that person. I honestly believe that only the truth will help people, but truth can be imparted softly, or sharply, and the words you choose can make all of the difference in the world, in a life. You also don't know how much the person you are talking to is showing you about themselves. A lot can be hidden on these pages. You may even be talking to a very happy person, but whose happiness is very fragile, and who is also hanging on your every word to... well, to hang on. :) I just think it is a good thing to keep in mind. I honestly believe that our many true heroes here, do just that. And I appreciate them, more than they may ever really know. :) Grace, your answer is so beautiful; it meant a lot to me...You made me remember why I do this thing on IQ- that if I help change one life,inspire one person, then everything I did here would be worth it. And also, I have had a pretty rough time with life, and IQ has kept me going...You have been a super addition to our family here! Please don't leave! You are truly a hero! ♥♥♥ Jai

Jai, thank you so much for your kind words. I love being here, and for many reasons. I did read about that time when you received so much love and assistance from so many here, and it warms my heart. Everyone has their own life to live, but to live like that, with so much love and support behind you, must feel tremendously empowering.

Grace had such a good answer, it reminded me of the times when I was very depressed and felt like nothing, like I messed up my life and like I was stupid for doing so etc... But what you wrote and many wonderful others didn't pull me out but did dangle a rope in front of me that pulled me out. I still had to make the choice but all of you helped me to make that choice to know everything is going to be cool, don't worry be happy. :-) It made a big difference to me, but I think of others and how they may be in the same situation and if it made a difference to me it does to them as well. We have no idea how many may do a search because they are at their last hope and find IQ and many of our wonderful answers that actually save them. Not only this as one wave affects others so does one good deed affect many, maybe an answer here is told to a friend that doesn't even have the Internet or perhaps a comfort where needed for someone grieving. I believe we have been doing this for fun and maybe Simon originally set it up as an experiment for us to collect knowledge but I believe we have evolved into a great humanitarian service that possible helps thousands on and off line that we will never even know about. We are not here for egos, granted the points are and fun to collect point and medals but the big picture we are here to help because first it is interesting but as well there is a sincerity of caring here for everyone. Even though we'll never meet there is a friendship and genuine caring compassionate helpful insightful answers here that do make a difference every day. We may not notice but God notices, we have become the lamps for humanity. I believe that does make us all heroes in our own respects, I know many of you saved me and brought me out of depression and sickness, I believe I keep getting better by your thoughts, meditations and prayers. But not to forget also your words. Words are powerful they can destroy or heal. This is a healing place of love and care. Wade Im so glad you are well. This is a very special place, isnt it? The only thing I ever really do here is be as pure and open as I can possibly be. I feel that, that way, there is the very best chance that it will be more than me speaking, and there could be a higher pupose that comes through for anyone reading what I write...Including me!
