There have been many times in my spiritual journey where putting the LOA to practice did not work, no matter how much I tried and went "by the book". Is this God really saying no? Is it that the LOA will not work for all situations? asked 06 Jul '10, 22:58 Back2Basics Barry Allen ♦♦ |
Hello… LOA trumped by GOD? The answer is “YES”. The concepts of “Mind Power” and “Law of Attraction” with all their related practices (such as meditation, visualization, manifestation, etc) are extremely popular with Inward Quest members. These concepts are so attractive that they are gratuitously forced into Biblical doctrine without any scrutiny in an attempt to establish a non-existent SPIRITUAL connection with the Biblical GOD. Firstly, the Biblical GOD is called by strange, generic names that NEVER once appear in His Word (such as The One, The Presence, The Divine, The Higher Power, The Source, The Universe, The All, The Higher Self, etc). Secondly, some of the Biblical GOD’s attributes are linked to these strange, generic names (such as omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, omnipercipience, etc). Thirdly, I have also observed Jesus Christ described by various members as a “Great Teacher”, a “Master”, and an “Enlightened”. Thus, there clearly exists a vain attempt of creating a “melting pot” of belief systems where “we are all the same”. However, if all “gods” are the same as the Biblical GOD and since Jesus Christ is described as a “Great Teacher”, a “Master”, and an “Enlightened”, then we should logically expect the Biblical GOD and Jesus Christ to be in agreement with the tenets of “Mind Power” and “Law of Attraction”. Is this true? Let us investigate… Contextually, the following Biblical passages are some of Jesus Christ’s Words to His disciples regarding certain spiritual truths and conduct during the establishment of the kingdom of heaven. These recorded conversations are between the Jewish Messiah and His Jewish disciples. These passages are NOT PARABLES, DREAMS, VISIONS, ALLEGORIES, or OF ANY PRIVATE INTERPRETATION: (1) Concerning Oaths and Promises “Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is GOD's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst NOT make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.” [Matthew 5:33-37] (2) Concerning Physical or Temporal Pursuits “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking THOUGHT can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if GOD so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” [Matthew 6:25-30] “And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and GOD feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking THOUGHT can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be NOT able to do that thing which is LEAST(!), why take ye THOUGHT for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then GOD so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?” [Luke 12:22-28] From Jesus Christ’s words, the spiritual lesson is clear: Left to his OWN devices, man CANNOT manipulate anything by the power of his own WILL, DESIRE, or MIND. To prove this claim, Jesus Christ declares that the disciples did NOT have ANY power to make one hair on their heads white or black or to add one cubit to their height. Jesus Christ never once mentions to His disciples that they should “adapt their meditation techniques”, “adjust their visualization processes”, or “improve their manifestation attempts” in order to accomplish those physical feats. Instead, Jesus Christ directs His disciples to have FAITH in the Biblical GOD to meet all their physical needs. Seeking the spiritual things of the Biblical GOD (such as His Precepts, His Statutes, His Testimonies, His Truths, etc) should take precedence over all physical needs. When you are in proper spiritual standing with the Biblical GOD, then He will meet ALL of your physical needs in the context of His Good Will towards you. There is only ONE person with the power of “Mind over Matter”: Jesus Christ (GOD in the FLESH). Because He spoke all things into existence, He is the only person with the power to manipulate matter. This is the reason He was able to feed the multitudes, heal all manner of sickness and disease, and resurrect from the dead. Therefore, there exists a great dilemma for a number of Inward Quest members who live by the concepts of “Mind Power” and “Law of Attraction”. If you describe Jesus Christ as a “Great Teacher”, a “Master”, and an “Enlightened”, then why did He not endorse and teach “Mind Power” and “Law of Attraction” as a TRUTH? Why did Jesus Christ declare that the “Power of the Mind” is POWERLESS? Is Jesus Christ a FRAUD and a LIAR? Is the Biblical GOD the same as other “gods”? Only you are responsible for your decisions. Thanks for reading. Concerned Citizen answered 07 Jul '10, 18:40 Concerned Citizen @CC - thank you for continuing to share your perspectives on this website. I do find your posts quite fascinating since they represent points of view so different to my own. While, as I've mentioned before, I probably disagree with almost every aspect of what you generally put forth, I do find your clarity, sincerity and apparent comfort in what you believe to be quite admirable. I think it highlights just how diverse are the perspectives that there are available on life...and how it's really down to each individual to find what feels right for them.

@Citizen. You know even and exactly what you told? "Jesus Christ = GOD in the FLESH"? This is much more than "SON of GOD"!!! Do you just believe than the limitating power of flesh is so overhelming, that "GOD in the flesh" needed to discover WHO HE IS? Than man crucified only the flesh used by God? This a new moving (exciting) perspective for my faith; I would believe this. Thank you this idea.

@Stingray. I know that , for you, isn't matter my opinion... But you will read this and you will know that me, the dust gleaming bit, I am very glad viewing your reaction and understanding that somethig had shift into you. Soon, you couldn't stifling this impulse of what lacked your great mind. I will pray for you (this don't need your approval).

GLEAM: Jesus Christ = GOD in the FLESH is 1 of 7 Mysteries [I Timothy 3:16]. He left His Glory in Heaven, became the Son, and took the form of flesh in order to defeat SIN and DEATH in the flesh for fallen Man through His perfect blood-sacrifice. Every Believer is also a son of GOD [John 1:12] with the privilege of calling GOD his Father [Galatians 4:6]. Man crucified His flesh, but Jesus Christ obtained His Glorified Body at His resurrection. This Glorified Body is also promised to all Believers at their resurrection [Romans 6:5]. GOD knows "WHO HE IS". His sacrifice was for His Creation.

@Concerned Citizen: Thank you for your answer. I do appreciate it. From my experience, I now do believe that GOD trumps. However, that doesn't mean these laws don't exist, maybe it is a rsult of us just scratching the surface of His kingdoms ways. Jesus Christ also did say that the kingdom of Heaven is within each of us. Perhaps we can get closer to the kingdom within using LOA, etc. But from experience, I do agree the Lord can change things past the LOA in our lives.

BACK2BASICS: It was my pleasure to answer your Bible-related question. Just to clarify: The "kingdom of heaven " is the literal, physical kingdom. The "kingdom of GOD" is the spiritual kingdom. Jesus Christ was pointing at Himself as the coming of the "kingdom of GOD" in response to the Pharisees' question [Luke 17:20-24]. Jesus Christ never declared that the "kingdom of heaven" is within each of us. He declared that you must be BORN-AGAIN to see the "kingdom of GOD" [John 3:3][Romans 14:17]. The "kingdom of heaven" will finally be established at His Second Coming [Revelation 19:11-21].

If it is a sunny day outside and you choose to go inside your house, draw the curtains and sit in the dark, does that mean that God is denying you the sunny day? If you throw a large brick up into the air, stand underneath it as it is flying upwards, and then feel the sharp pain as it lands on your head, does that mean that God is punishing people who throw bricks? The Law of Attraction is operating in your life in every moment of every day forever. Nothing happens to you in any way that is not a result of the operation of The Law of Attraction. So it never not works, it's just a case of you deciding that because you didn't get what you wanted then there is something wrong with it. answered 07 Jul '10, 03:39 Stingray This sounds like a observation of attitude, which I agree can make a huge difference. But how could you tell a 4 year old child in Africa who is about to die from starvation - "But it's only you deciding you didn't get what you want."??

Hypothetical examples are never that helpful. In the case you cite, if you came across a starving 4 year old child in Africa, would you really feel like doing nothing for them except discussing metaphysics? Or would you feel like helping? And why wouldn't your help be part of what that child is attracting? But it is still better ultimately to reawaken people to the fact that their lives are completely under their own control in every moment. Hiding that knowledge behind dogma and superstition does not serve them in my view.

if you come near such a child feed him and show him to plant and sow and to fish and to hunt. then he will have something to attract that he needs and will know how to get it. experience and enjoy..

Sunny days don't almost come to all people, including many people in Africa, and many other 3rd world countries.. They seem to be punished for no reason..or those people keep constantly thinking about starving to death..this is why they attracted it! or yes, make sure that you throw a brick and experience law of gravitation and believe that law of attraction is the only operating law in the universe.

The phrase that caught my attention in your question was "no matter how much I tried",Loa is Fun. Do you try to have fun or does fun just happen? Think about whats fun and what makes you happy. I don't think that having fun is that happens when you have to try for it. Real Fun /Joy / Happiness just is, happens when you allow it. Yes you might have to drive (don't forget to enjoy the ride) to the beach ,water park,(insert fun thing here)but when you get there you don't try to have fun you just have fun. So don't try so hard ,let it (Intention) be fun. You believe that God is in you,a part of you . Is there a part of you saying no? peace answered 07 Jul '10, 09:25 ursixx |
As Stingray pointed out, the LOA is always at work, but we often have to learn to use it consciously in our favour. When things don't work out for us,it's often easier to blame someone else (eg.God) or say that the LOA doesn't work than it is to accept responsibility that we created the situation by our unconscious use of the LOA. However, when we do accept responsibility for what happens in our lives, we can then begin to use the LOA consciously and we realize that nothing that happens is "hit and miss". We can begin by practicing methods to raise our vibration or using manifestation processes such as focus blocks. AS you begin to feel better about what you want to attract ( or vibrate at a higher frequency ) what you attract will begin to change and things that you want to show up in your physical reality will begin to do so. I would suggest browsing the site and trying out some of the techniques or manifestation processes to see what feels right. answered 07 Jul '10, 13:09 Michaela I agree Michaela, gravity always works,God doesnt supercede His own system and He doesnt mock His own laws.LOA must be all or not at all.

I used to sometimes think the LOA didn't work for me, too. But when I would look back later, I would realize that I had sabotaged things in some way myself. I don't feel that God denies me anything I want, and in fact He sometimes allows me to experience things I had really wanted that weren't good for me at all. LOA is a universal law, with no exceptions. If I really want something and really put the forces into motion, it will happen, good or bad. answered 07 Jul '10, 00:55 LeeAnn 1 |
The law of attraction IS god..... God is more than the sum of all the probable systems of reality he has created, and yet he is within each one of these, without exception. He is therefore within each man and woman. He is also within each spider, shadow, and frog, and this is what man does not like to admit. God can only be experienced, and you experience him whether or not you realize it, through your own existence. He is not male or female, however, and I use the terms only for convenience’s sake. In the most inescapable truth, he is not human in your terms at all, nor in your terms is he a personality. Your ideas of personality are too limited to contain the multitudinous facets of his multidimensional existence. ~Seth Speaks... All of Gods laws work perfectly and all the time.He doesnt mess about with and suspend the natural order.Gravity works all the time not 99% of the time. God is law and law is God.They arnt changed by Him willy nilly,He doesnt barter for terms and He certainly doesnt trump LOA. LOA is His system not ours. Im not taking anything away from God here,He cant be mocked and indeed when this phrase was used in the bible a natural law was written directly after it ,ie sowing and reaping. i would agree that God can do what He wants, but He has hasnt He? Hes set up a physical universe that runs along His perfect lines. If its not broken why fix it.I think God got the way this systems run right first time.No need for any remedials here. Graham answered 08 Sep '10, 17:21 Monty Riviera Apparently, the LOA has trumped in your favor. Congratulation! We would love to hear your success story. Hi Vee,LOA/God i see them as the same has brought much into my life. The best thing it did was to free me from a repulsive belief system that i used to adhere to.It helped me get rid of the dogma and embrace the God.
