My heart. It tells me between two things I feel like doing, the one that makes me feel better, or at least the one that won't hurt anybody's feelings. My beliefs are only my own, and might misguide me, I suppose, as are not shared with anyone. If I feel not very good about something, and the other option makes me feel at least slightly better, I choose the second option. There's a bit of selfishness involved. I don't want to feel bad after making a decision...! :) BJ09 answered 22 Oct '10, 12:19 BridgetJones09 Yes, my understanding pertaining to belief is the same. Thank you.

My heart guides me. I was raised to believe certain things, which were my beliefs or misunderstandings, but my heart kept telling me there is more out there than what I was led to believe. Beliefs are wht you are taught or interpret on your own. Your heart is wht u feel. What you feel is in your mind already. answered 22 Oct '10, 06:35 Brandy Your answer resonates well with me. Thank you.

Both, and i would reckon that the sincerely held belief(s) forms part of the make up of the heart. When something is meditated upon and is gradually accepted by the inner man it becomes part of our spiritual body. If a belief hasnt sunk into the heart/subcon/higher self its not really a belief or conviction. I couldnt determine between the two because there so closely connected. If there is a difference i cant discern it. Graham answered 22 Oct '10, 13:47 Monty Riviera I get what you're saying Graham but I think what the heart holds is a 'knowing' rather than a 'belief'.

Cant argue with that. A knowing is the principal thing...a true belief

Another way of looking at it is: what come from the heart is suppose to be pure, and a belief can also be a misconception. So the two holds different truth, but I would follow where my heart leads me.

@ Vee - You said it well, although I would rephrase it - that what comes from the heart 'Is Pure' instead of what 'is supposed to be pure'.

Good point Vee. If we sincerely believe something is truth it may be to us BUT it might not be actual truth. We can all believe in a misconception.

Nice question. For a good part of my life, I'd say that I let my beliefs guide me but it really didn't leave me feeling too happy. Only when I began to question those beliefs did I realize that they were merely things I had been taught and accepted as truth but at the core of my being, they were not really my truth. When I began to meditate and become still enough, I became aware that some of those beliefs were causing me to live a limited existence. However, when I listened to my heart centre and began letting my decisions be guided from this place, I began to feel better and as a result any decisions made from there led me in positive directions. I think when we let ourselves be guided from the heart, we can never go wrong because at a deep level of our being it always feels right, probably because we are being guided from a place of love and there is a knowing that the decision is right. You can differentiate between the two by how you feel - when you are guided from your heart centre it will always feel right. answered 22 Oct '10, 14:00 Michaela I love your answer, especially the last sentence. Thank you.

To those of you who voted this down twice ( And I genuinely don't care if you vote it down twenty times ), maybe just ask yourself 'What did this answer trigger within me ?' - I love you anyway :)

@Michaela, your reputation graph doesn't show any downvotes for the past few days (at least)...unless I'm misunderstanding how that graph works?

Stingray
@Stingray - My points went from ending in 09 to 07, so I assume that was downvotes, but I realize now, that would have been only one not two. Didn't even know there was a reputation graph, so I'm not sure how it works. I probably shouldn't have even left the comment - it really doesn't matter :)

The beliefs and feelings originate with thought. You can test this for yourself, start thinking negatively about anything and watch what happens to your feelings. If you persist in this manner, you will develop habitual negative beliefs and feelings. Outside of our beliefs and feelings there is the sixth sense which I believe is coming from the unconscious and is even more powerful than what we think or feel. It is important to learn to learn to recognize and trust the instinct. answered 23 Oct '10, 00:13 Drham You are right we have to be careful of what our beliefs are, because it can work in a negative way against us. Thank you for your answer.
