I know that Gratitude reaps rewards- that it is the way to live. But despite knowing it on a conscious level, there is a Voice deep down inside me that always says, "Yes, But---..." Wade has been reading about gratitude, and has pointed out to me that when we were really grateful for what we had, we had enough of everything. But since our church broke up, I, especially, have backslid into doubt and even despair. I feel that sometimes God does not hear me. So I know that, despite years of trying to practice this in all my affairs, that Gratitude has not reached the basement of my mind. I really want to be Grateful. I have so much to be grateful for, it is ridiculous. So why does that little Voice keep doubting? Why do I even hear that Voice at all? You would think I would be over this by now, but I just realized that I am not. Granted, my youth was like Auschwitz, but it is in the past. The bad men are not going to get me anymore. So why is it so hard for me to do this simple thing: Be Grateful Each and Every Day...? What can I do to make this get into my subconscious? I sometimes wonder if it it is just my character to doubt and be pessimistic. But That has to be B.S. A lot of people here have conquered this simple way of living. Please share what you do. I am at a loss. Love, Jai ♥♥♥ asked 16 Feb '14, 20:36 Jaianniah |
Gratitude works with your feelings. the more you feel grateful the better it works.Wade list is great and works for him but if nothing there rings true with you right now and the feeling of doubt is strong you need to reach for the things right now the you feel grateful for. And it can be simple things. Like warm toes, winter is cold and toes get cold but that feeling of warmth that's something to be grateful for! "Whenever something that you think you want does not unfold, it is for one of two reasons: Either your habit of vibration, your belief, your dominant vibration that you are offering relative to the subject, doesn't match what you think your desire is, or, you and your desire are a perfect match, and this thing you think you want just doesn't match, and so the Universe doesn't deliver it." --- Abraham It's like physical therapy for the soul. At the moment you might be training to walk with a walker . And to step on the treadmill set on high speed running would just throw you on your butt. peace answered 17 Feb '14, 01:09 ursixx 1

Quote from Dale Carnegie "Two men looked out from prison bars, one saw the mud the other saw the stars". In other words consciously choose the other side of the coin, look upwards instead of downwards and your question "how do i « get » the attitude of gratitude « down » to my « subconscious »?" now becomes "how do i « send » the attitude of gratitude « upwards » into the « kingdom of heaven »?" Now ask yourself, that is, the god within you, your higher self "how do i enter the kingdom of heaven?" and the reply is; "so you would like to interview me? god asked "if you have the time" i said. God smiled "my time is eternity ... what question do you have in mind for me? "What surprises you most about humankind?" God answered "that they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up and then long to be children again, that they lose their health to make money ... and then lose their money to restore their health, that by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future, that they live as if they will never die and die and die as though they had never lived. God's hand took mine and we were silent for a while. And then i asked "as a parent what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn? "To learn that they cannot make anyone love them, all they can do is let themselves be loved. To learn that it is not good to compare themselves with others. To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness. To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love and it can take many years to heal them. To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most but one who needs the least. To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings. To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently. To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another but they must also forgive themselves." "Thank you for your time" i said humbly "is there anything else you would like your children to know?" God smiled and said "just know that i am here" "always"

Remember the subconscious is subservient to the conscious. We must always remember this that when we make a choice and really mean it, we imprint that choice in the subconscious. But here is the trick, to influence the subconscious mind, A) we need make a solid choice and B) we need to be in position to reach the subconscious. We may practice all day and this is good, it reaches the subconscious through repetition much like karate training or guitar practice. But here is what happens when we get excited and think so much about it that it is even the last thing we think about before falling to sleep in bed, the veil between conscious and subconscious is thin at this moment and so it influences the subconscious easier. We may as well, be commanding and outright tell our right brain to handle the reprogramming for us while we do other things. That is another way to reach the subconscious. For now think of everything to be thankful for. God I want to thank you for blessing us so much with everything you give us. Thank you for my car Thank you for my home Thank you for my oven Thank you for my stove Thank you for my sink Thank you for my furnace Thank you for my refrigerator Thank you for my freezer Thank you for my kitchen table Thank you for the chairs Thank you for my counter Thank you for my dressers Thank you for my thank you for my closets Thank you for my toilet Thank you for my shower and bathtub Thank you for the hot and cold running clean water Thank you for our heat Thank you for our electricity Thank you for garbage pickup Thank you for our gas Thank you for our couches Thank you for our phones Thank you for our computers Thank you for our internet Thank you for our lights Thank you for my air Thank you for my sight Thank you for my hearing Thank you for my ability to walk Thank you for my ability to speak Thank you for my ability think Thank you for lifting me up where I belong Thank you God, thank you. I can go on and on, look around and see what there is to be thankful about. answered 16 Feb '14, 21:32 Wade Casaldi |
How? Through conscious intention before you go into dream state. Your conscious mind and subconscious mind integrate during dream state. These two levels of consciousness will frequently argue with one another, as both have different perspectives. The result of these arguments manifest symbolically into what we call dreams. answered 17 Feb '14, 12:55 TGunn @TGunn- I dunno- I do not always remember my dreams...I wish you would elaborate a bit. ♥

@Jaianniah: Well, to be quite frank, you are listening too much to your outer ego and are ignoring your intuition - your inner ego, your Higher Self. That 'little Voice that keeps doubting' is your outer ego. The outer ego and inner ego have different functions and perspectives designed for you to experience balance in your physical incarnational experiences.

(cont)To use an analogy, your physical body is an airplane; your outer ego the pilot of the airplane; and your inner ego the control tower operator. All are connected and function perfectly when each aspect remains within the parameters of its job functions.

(cont) As you are giving your greater attention to the pilot (your outer ego), the pilot then thinks it can do the job of the control tower operator (your Higher Self), as well. The problem with this is the outer ego is designed to perceive, react, and respond only to what is directly in front of it, not beyond it.

(cont) The best way to show gratitude to your subconscious is to listen to your intuitive self - the part of you that foresees all the possibilities beyond what your conscious-self perceives. A good exercise to rebalance the conscious mind with the subconscious mind is to reflect on all the moments of the day you just had, after you crawl into bed, shut your eyes, and relax. Reflect on the perceptions, reactions, and responses and how they made you feel.

@TGunn- Thank you for the great explanation! I like your analogy. Not to be corny, but in the movie, White Christmas, Bing Crosby sings a song that says (perhaps a bit misquoted here: "When you lie down, and cannot sleep, count your blessings instead of sheep..." I like that very much. It is good to review the day...

@TGunn- cont.- I know that my Mom has done this for years. She has 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and she also prays for each and every one after she goes to bed. She told me once when she was in pain after back surgery, she occupied her mind by trying to remember all their birthdays....I don't even know all their birthdays!!! Thanks again. ♥

How can you have doubt about something and claim to absolutely know something? That is a contradiction and it is that contradiction that will keep you doubting even more. Sometimes we all have 'doubts', they are there to offer us a choice to step into negativity - or not. They are just reminders. Just like a hopeful thought can come to you to bring you back onto the trail of positivity, so can a thought of doubt come to bring you to the trail of negativity. If you don't want it, then don't continue to focus on it more and more. answered 19 Feb '14, 18:37 arpgme |
