What was i born to accomplish? What kind of people do i look up to and can imagine myself being like? You need to discover the stillness within yourself..every heart has it's temple.

"Know thyself" .. how did you discover how to walk, talk, read and write ? maybe not the same way I discovered that. but the source is one within me as it is within you.

What makes your pulse go faster? What makes your mind suddenly sit up and take notice? What makes you feel most alive? What comes naturally to you as you do it and is easy as putting on your shoes? That, to me is your God-given gift which we all possess. My career in advertising sales, despite the long hours many times does not even feel like work. I love it. My other passion is metaphysics and eastern philosophy and when I read it, it feels like coming home. There's a spectacular connection and the information just feels right. It makes sense. It fits!

Your gut instinct or your 'inner voice' will always tell you what is right for you. YOU are the expert in your life and no one else. So---check in with your feelings by letting your mind wander and see how you are feeling on the various subjects that come up...because our feelings NEVER lie! What feels right IS right!

I realized when you were asking about gifts, you were really asking about "supernatural" gifts. How do we discover if we have them?

First, it helps to believe that you do have them! Maybe not so strongly as on television, but strange occurences happen, and it seems that we sometimes manage to "hone in" on the spiritual plane while still standing on firm earth. Our spiritual culture is full of stories that pass from person to person, telling of strange and wonderful things that have happened to people...

When I was in eighth grade, and had gone to bed for the night, I slowly became aware of a "presence" standing at the foot of my bed. I became frightened. I arose, and went to the TV room where my parents were enjoying Johnny Carson.

"There is someone in my room. A ghost," I said.

My parents immediately got up to investigate. They searched the room, Dad searched outside.

Nothing.

So I reluctantly went back to bed, only to start "feeling" this presence at the foot of my bed again. I was frightened. I just had never felt this feeling before. So I asked if I could sleep on the couch, and my parents said yes.

The next morning, my mother received a phone call. Her estranged father had died the night before, at precisely the time I went to bed the night before.

I think Grandpa was saying good-bye and was trying to reach someone to say he was sorry for all he had done in the world.

This is what I mean. I have since learned not to be afraid of this feeling, and to know it for what it is: the spirit world. I have developed this gift a bit, but I have no control over when or where it comes.

Hi. I've just finished reading 'the disappearance of the universe', and my interpretation of some of what I read is that you don't need to discover them, you simply need to 'remember' what you already know. From your question it appears to me that you probably already have a sense of your natural gifts but can't seem to access or remember them.

I've found that if you keep asking the question in a way that has you expecting the answer, then a book or a film or a person will be presented to you that will provide you with the information you need.

You could try the book I've mentioned, just see if that feels right. Hope this helps!!
