Hello, I've been exploring this idea for a while, but would love help on bringing together the loose ends and really understanding it. I read an author called Richard Dotts (not sure if anyone here has heard of him). He talks about performing manifestation by accessing the state of inner stillness, or peace. He says that manifestations are much faster when you access this state while bringing up the intention very lightly. This fascinated me, as I am well-acquainted with this state, having meditated for many years. So I wanted to look into it further. Then I found the book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, by Deepak Chopra. In it, he mentions what he calls the Field of Pure Potentiality. He says that if one were to enter this field, and bring up the idea of an intention and let it go, it would manifest almost instantaneously. This is obviously very similar to the description given by Richard Dotts. So I've been experimenting with this on my own, and have indeed been getting some very good results. It seems to be a much faster method of manifestation, but I'd still like to understand how and why this works. Other teachers, such as Abraham, say that asking is not necessary at all, but simply to feel better. However, if I'm to understand this other way of manifesting, one is to "ask" by lightly holding the energy of the intention with no other resistance, and it comes about very quickly. My own theory is that by accessing this state, which personally I call the "Void", it makes a much larger imprint on the Universe and is able to manifest much more quickly. Both Chopra and Dotts use the metaphor of throwing a stone into a pond and seeing the ripples it creates. If the pond is calm, the ripples are clear. But if the pond is turbulent, then no ripples can be seen. Similarly, if one's state is troubled, then an intention doesn't go anywhere. But if one's state is clear and calm, then the intention sends ripples far out into the Universe. Have you had experiences with this? Do you think this is a faster way of manifesting? And, why, exactly, does it work? asked 26 Oct '15, 10:29 The Magician

I think what you are referring to with your question is what in this answer is (arbitrarily) called Method 2. To quote from it...
It's the Taoist idea of utilizing the power inherent in emptiness, of not trying to force things into place but yielding and guiding the natural energy flow of the Universe.
It's Yin instead of Yang, feminine instead of masculine, soft instead of hard, light instead of dark.
...or, for a more modern-day metaphor...it's doing it this guy's way... ...instead of this guy's way... There is power in limitation because there is focus in limitation but there is a greater power in the unlimitedness that led to the limitation...but it's unfocused, and so it's easy to overlook. So the best of both worlds (as far as "easy" manifesting is concerned) might well be utilizing the limited focus just enough to channel the unlimited. But, then again, I'd say it's just a matter of personal preference because while it can make it easier to get what you want, life can be so much more interesting at times when you occasionally put on that Dark Helmet :) answered 26 Oct '15, 18:21 Stingray 1
I appreciate your answer. I don't think it's just feeling good. The conception of it as emptiness is more apt. Emptiness is not "good" or "bad". It simply is. Dotts refers to it in the same way, as devoid of either positive or negative, and I think the Tao Te Ching quotes you mentioned are pointing to the same. So I think it's more than just feeling good. It's a deep connectedness with Stillness, with Void, with Emptiness. It's what's left when all thoughts and emotions have been stilled.

@The Magician - The "feeling good" aspect is Your Perspective of the "Emptiness", it has nothing to do with the "Emptiness" itself. If your perspective aligns with your Broader Self, you feel good, because feeling good indicates Broader Self flowing through you (the physical You) as you perceive that perspective. You asked your question in relation to manifesting. So if you want to be sure you'll like your "stuff" when it comes, find ways to align with feeling-good perspectives :)

For me "feeling" is synonymous to emotion, and any emotion is an indicator, a feed-back mechanism that lets me know which direction I'm actually vibrating towards, saying that an emotion is "good" or "bad" is a personal judgement dependant on the actual internal emotional belief. 'The Void' by definition is beyond all that in a different realm.

Why does using 'The Void' to manifest work? because it's everything that can ever exist, like clay contains all things that could ever be formed.
Why does using 'The Void' to manifest work? because it creates a flow of energy between the unmanifested and the manifested, a swinging back and forth, a vibration, an oscillating circuit just as an alternating circuit produces electricity.
I agree with that, @jaz. I think it sets up a vacuum of sorts where only this intention exists, free of all resistance, since there can really be no resistance in that place.
absolutely @The Magician without the vacuum (the god principle, the infinite ... whatever) there's resistance, and resistance means limiting beliefs, thus unfree will :)
