really... for you, the here is there. but what is going on here? what purpose drives these questions and answers? what do you get out of being here, posting these letters, words, and sentences? does it bring you closer to the truth, if any? asked 07 Dec '10, 09:10 mr.g Barry Allen ♦♦

What do i get out of it? The same as i get from chatting to my wife,or my cat,or the guys down the pub,or anyone. I like to listen and be heard. I like to communicate. I like to share. I like to learn. I like to disagree. I like to agree. I like to live...and the aboves part of living. Graham answered 07 Dec '10, 09:42 Monty Riviera All on board with you!

Great answer Monty. My sentiments exactly. I would have just added I like to grow and I like to evolve but in your own words you answered the question for me.

Some of us do live in societies where the mere hint of the topics discussed in here is enough to ostracise our whole family for supposedly dabbling in witchcraft.............So my dear, how nice it is for us to be able to discuss that which can further our learning/teaching experience on these subjects with other like-minded selves. Thanks to all who made this Inward Quest possible. Thank you, namaste answered 07 Dec '10, 19:06 daniele You are right Danielle it is a miracle someone hasn't burned us at the stake or closed us down. Just shows how far we have come in life and evolution. I agree thanks to all who made this miracle called IQ possible.

What if all the seeking and the content of most of these questions is what keeps us from finding the truth? answered 08 Dec '10, 21:26 mr.g where is your trend of thought headed, is it the value or content of the questions proposed?
(09 Dec '10, 00:40)
fred
my trend of thought heads toward the destruction of all beliefs and false assertions. that includes things held sacred for no other reason than the belief that they should be held sacred.

Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find and as the old saying goes finders keepers losers weepers.

Mr.g. You gave this answer back in 2010. I agree with your perspective, but the person to whom this applies is very rare. When an artist learns the craft they start with straight lines, circles, cubes, shapes, birds, animals, human form, buildings, meadows, sceneries and eventually things of the inspiration. They have to absorb the ability to capture all existing forms visually with years of practice so that they can go beyond it and capture things that don't exist yet.

Likewise, one has to ask and ask many and all questions until they are exhausted and frustrated with the realization that asking creates the incompleteness that must be filled with the answer. But they need the experience of asking just so that they can recognize that inspiration is the question and the answer. The encountering of which created the question or the answer.

When the student is ready the teacher will appear! Apparently, you are ready, but there is only one exception, you must also be a teacher that we can learn from! We are all teachers, and students learning, teaching, and sharing with each other here on this site. We each have something special to give, and share with each other, so we welcome you, both as a teacher and as a student. Welcome! answered 10 Dec '10, 07:58 Inactive User ♦♦ |
Seems like people asking questions and people answering questions. All I see are words on a screen. But I smile real big at some of them :) Others I laugh at hysterically. :D Purpose? Fun, exploration, expansion. No truth. Only pleasure. answered 07 Dec '10, 09:15 Hu Ra I respectfully disagree. There's no questions to smile at, less than all to laugh histerically at. We all ask in earnest and mean well.

'"No truth"' - Personally, the more I learn the more I see truth everywhere, in everything and in everyone

@Hu Ra exploration and expansion are supposed to be fun and I'm glad you find it pleasing, but remember as Stingray says, truth is everywhere. Thank you, namaste

The site is called Inward Quest gesturing at the never-ending journey of discovery of one's self, not truth. A belief in something doesn't make it true. There is no truth. There is no "not truth". There only is.
(08 Dec '10, 03:33)
Hu Ra
belief actually requires that one does not know the thing believed in. def: "something one accepts as true or real; a firmly held opinion or conviction"
(09 Dec '10, 03:19)
mr.g
@stingray what does it mean that "truth is everywhere" ?
(09 Dec '10, 03:20)
mr.g
@mr.g - my truth is that: belief is the catalyst that leads to knowing. One can still believe whilst remaining open-minded (skeptical) and therefore, willing to allow for the possibility that further data may change my belief :)
